People don't read for themselves.I don’t know where this myth cams from they took less lol.

Brady wouldn't have as many rings as he does if he maxxed out his contract demands, and no, teams can't just gimmick contracts like that away or else people like Brady wouldn't be willing to take a more team friendly deal.
Does someone want to add this up for me?You the fool. This really isn't a question. Brady wasn't making market money and he easily could have demanded more.
That's fine. If I were Jerry, I would draft a QB early during next year's draft and put Dak on notice: work with us by taking a little discount...or get replaced asap. This is Jerry.. lol I might take more in guaranteed cash or be willing to move things around to help the team, but I'm certainly not going to part with a huge sum. Even guys who might take a few dollars less aren't doing that.
Fair assessment.Nobody should expect Dak to willingly take less money to have a better team. That would obviously be crazy. The trade off however is that he is not the hero of the story. He is the overpaid hack that holds everyone else back.
Great post.like me cutting back on 50 million guarantees anything. Nevermind 3 championships. Family comes first. Period. If I play for 6 seasons then retire you think it’s wise to leave 50 million on the table? This is the state of the league and thinking these players are going to give a discount for the sake of “hopefully” winning is far fetched. It’s up to the team to divvy up the cap space, not the player.

Outside of Death nothing is ever guaranteed.like me cutting back on 50 million guarantees anything. Nevermind 3 championships. Family comes first. Period. Outside of Death nothing is ever guaranteed.
BUT I ask you what is the big difference between getting $500 million and $450 million?
Now you can give a stupid answer and say $50 million or you can ask yourself what difference in your life will that make?
OR are you claiming $450 million is slave wages?
I agreeI agree. I wouldn't. A playing career is short.
From a team standpoint, you have to make the tough decisions, from the players standpoint, you have to get what you can while you can.
50 million is a lot of moneyOutside of Death nothing is ever guaranteed.

I agree
But there is a way to find a happy middle. Structure is really the key to a contract not just the money. A very team friendly structure while still getting your money is a win-win
And I think which contract is a huge factor. You’d be an idiot to take less on your second contract since it’s your first negotiated contract. It’s a bit different if it’s a 3rd or later contract
Guarantees can also be structured to help team. Guaranteed money has to go in escrow at signing so it’s a huge cash flow issue for some teams. But you can get around that by having guarantees kick in later in contract. We’ve done that some but you could do it moreNo doubt. I mentioned that earlier. How it's structured and maybe a few more dollars guaranteed. There are things that can be done to help the cause. I just think it's going overboard to think a sum like 50 million would be passed up for the sake of winning.
Actually that is how the most greedy of all talk.Ask Jerry that same question like 50 million is somehow unimportant even to the lifestyle of a billionaire. This is how poor people talk, not people who have a golden opportunity to make that kind of money in the first place. Thinking Dak is just going to give that up out of the kindness of his heart cause a guy living on 50K thinks it makes sense. lol
And that's exactly right .. nothing is guaranteed.
I will ask you the same question that Big D avoided answering in any substantial way except to justify greed.50 million is a lot of money
It’s not about slave labor. It’s about maximizing a very short career you’ve spent most of your life working on
50 mil is not a lot of money when you already have 450 mil. The difference is miniscule when you consider that either amount allows you and several generations to be very very rich. And unless you're just stupid w/ the money, it makes your family rich for the forseeable future.50 million is a lot of money
It’s not about slave labor. It’s about maximizing a very short career you’ve spent most of your life working on
Why is money so important in your life that you don't care about anything else?No doubt. I mentioned that earlier. How it's structured and maybe a few more dollars guaranteed. There are things that can be done to help the cause. I just think it's going overboard to think a sum like 50 million would be passed up for the sake of winning.
lol that’s ridiculous. You might want to ask a person with the type of money we’re talking about that same question. See how quick they are to throw away 50 million no matter how much they have. Why is money so important in your life that you don't care about anything else?
Actually that is how the most greedy of all talk.
Congratulations.
