Their's a reason Glenn's not on that list. D-Coordinators don't lose sleep trying to figure out how to stop him. Trying not to be a homer here. ;)
If I had the time or the energy, I'd find every article written in the past two years proving you wrong. ;)

I think all the 'boys receivers give DCs the blues.

Lee Evans should be higher than Javon Walker and Randy Moss.

It's an OKAY list.

I agree with you SuperPunk that he seemed to have gotten bored making this list... I get the same feeling

1. Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers: The ultimate offensive weapon has almost single-handedly carried the Panthers' offense the past two seasons. Smith's outstanding speed, quickness and leaping ability enable him to take over a game, which sets him apart from the rest of the receivers. With a league-best 13 100-yard performances in the past two seasons, Smith has proven to be a dominant force despite lacking a complementary playmaker on the offense. His dominance will continue as he and two-time Pro Bowl QB Jake Delhomme form the foundation of the Panthers' new offensive attack.
Smith only had four 100 yd games last season. He had a great 2005 season and 2006 was pretty disappointing with Delhomme really sucking. But Smith had a lot of drops last year himself yet the guy only bothers to mention that about TO.

That would be a quite fine point except it applies to everyone ranked below about 10th, lol.

Glenn is a top 25 WR for certain. At least under Bill Parcells he is.

There's a few guys on the list I wouldn't even draft, much less start, on my fantasy team. And isn't that really what's important:) lol.
I agree he's top 25.

I think he got bored after 15 or so.

How Calvin Johnson, Reggie Brown, Deion Branch and Mark Clayton are better than Terry Glenn, Hines Ward, Joey Galloway and Marques Colston, I have no idea.
That's probably why I got bored reading it. An outstanding piece of journalism right there....

Glenn is not better than T.O. Glenn is good and an important part of the offense and I am glad he is in Dallas. I don't know if Glenn is a top 25 receiver. Maybe he can be in there between 20 and 25. There are probably a few guys you can slip into that level.

It boggles the mind how a rookie who has yet to play can be on this list. Apart from being way too early to tell (remember Charlie Rogers was considered pretty can't miss), it's extremely disrespectful to productive veterans like Terry Glenn, Isaac Bruce and others who didn't make this list.

Especially over Marcus Colston.

Oh, and I didn't know TO had a wrist injury? Then again the finger is close to the wrist so I should give Burger King credit for being in the general vicinity. ;)

No one is suggesting that he's better than TO, but just looking at some of the players on that list, Glenn could easily fall into that 10-20 range with no problem.

Bucky Brooks wrote it, not Peter King.

Guess only the Cowboy Homers believe TG is better than T.O:lmao2:
How does that even make sense, given that they both play for the Cowboys?

There were a couple of posters that said Glenn was better than T.O.

Not you of course.

I agree with both. I would put Glenn at #19 in place of Coles, who should be #20 in place of Calvin Johnson, who hasn't even played a pre-season game yet!!

For the sake of argument, let us compare the stats for Glenn and Johnson:

---------Rec -- Yards -- YPG -- Avg -- TD
Glenn----70 -- 1047 ---69.8 -- 15.0 -- 6
Johnson - 0 -------0-------0----- 0--- 0

Hmmmm....I wonder who is the better receiver at this point...

How can JFE have TG rated above TO and this report have TO in the top five NFL?

Guess all of us Zoners who said TO was better then TG get a pat on the backside...

Kudos! Glenn is good, and I really believe he is a top 25 WR, but Owens is a more complete WR than Glenn. I am just glad we have both of them.

T.O. should have been #1 IMO....what he done when he was not 100% healthy was better than what Smith done with 2 good hands. Smith had a good few drops last season with his 2 hands.

T.O.'s power, speed, size, agility and overall talent make him the hardest receiver in the league to gaurd.

glenn has a tendency to get lost, not a top 25 guy

Then again, Reggie Wayne hasn't been paid attention to, and he has performed very well the past three seasons. Only this year was he paid attention to.

Then again, he is taking on the number 2/number 3 cornerback on the opposing defense as Terry Glenn did. Maybe that has something to do with it. I am not saying that Glenn isn't really good, but that people want to see the best player beat the best player, ala TO burning D. Hall or the like.

Nice Sig!! And I agree, PBP is the best P4P hands down! I want to see him fight Shane Mosley or Ricky Hatton though. Either one of those should be a good fight!

Back to the topic...carry on...

Actually I remember reading comments from players and coaches from other teams saying that Glenn is the guy that worries them - even more so than TO. He's very highly regarded by DBs and coaches in the NFL so I think they'd disagree with your comments that DBs don't lose sleep over Glenn. Wish I could go back and pull the quotes but have no idea where I read this. I just know I did.

I think that has more to do with Glenn being matched up on their #2 or #3 CB moreso than it does the coordinators thinking Glenn is more dangerous than Owens.

Glenn:

Runs excellent routes, has excellent hands, good speed, can catch balls in traffic, big play threat, reliable.

Owens:

Runs average routes, average hands, pretty good speed, difficult to take down once he has the wall, can make the big play after a catch, but less likely to beat his man downfield before the catch.
