1a. Felix Jones
Grade: 4.07 - First-Year Contributor -- Prospect that has the ability to make plays from the get-go and start early into his rookie season.
POSITIVES: Explosive ball-carrier who plays much faster than his timed speed. Outstanding cut-back runner who does a great job using blocks. Immediately finds the running lanes and quickly gets to top speed. Quick-footed, cuts back against the grain, and loses no momentum when he must immediately change direction. Runs with good lean and vision and deceptively strong in his lower body with the ability to break the first tackle. Possesses the speed and agility to turn the corner, displays outstanding open-field running skills, and can run to daylight if given the slightest amount of open space. Sets defenders up, makes them miss or bounces around piles, and creates a lot of yardage. Natural catching the ball out of the backfield, easily adjusting to the errant throw and grabbing it with his hands.
NEGATIVES: Always played second fiddle at Arkansas and was never asked to carry the load in college. Poor 40 time at the combine will raise red flags.
ANALYSIS: Jones has been a triple-threat player in college at running back, receiver, and as a return specialist. His ability to elude defenders and create yardage is a major asset. Jones has the ability to develop into a feature runner down the road, yet early in his NFL career he should be very productive as a third-down back and a return specialist.
1b. Mike Jenkins
Grade: 4.15 - Quality Prospect -- Someone that consistently gives good performances. Occasional Pro-Bowl appearances.
POSITIVES: Natural cover corner with terrific size and speed. Fluid transitioning off the line, easily runs with opponents anywhere on the field, and positions himself to make a play on the ball. Immediately locates the pass in the air. Has a quick move to the throw and a burst of closing speed. Plays with a lot of suddenness, flashing on the scene and displaying good hands for the pick. Correctly anticipates his pass defenses, plays with an aggressive style, and will defend the run. Positively impacts the game returning kicks.
NEGATIVES: Not a sure tackler. Can be slow to react with his back to the ball.
ANALYSIS: Jenkins comes off a terrific senior campaign and has established himself as the premier cornerback in the nation. He possesses the skills necessary to quickly transition into a starting role at the next level.
2. Martellus Bennett
Grade: 3.77 - First-Year Contributor -- Prospect that has the ability to make plays from the get-go and start early into his rookie season.
POSITIVES: Large, athletic tight end who displays natural skills catching the ball. Uses his frame to shield away defenders, adjusts to the errant throw, and makes the reception with his hands. Strong, takes a pounding, and holds onto the ball. Turns defenders off the ball and uses body positioning to seal them from the action.
NEGATIVES: Marginal playing speed and quickness. Not a tight end who creates mismatches in the secondary.
ANALYSIS: Bennett is a large pass-catching target who plays with good fundamentals. He offers the ability to be a number one tight end if he learns to play to his 40 time, completes his game, and smoothes out the rough edges.
