SI.com: Power Rankings (Cowboys 14 behind Denver 11)

Rankings like this are stupid, imo because unlike college football, the game is settled on the field. That is why I am more of a pro guy, then a college football guy.

we're better than SF or Cinci.

I like seeing Washington lower than Oakland and Detroit :lmao:

If the 49ers are healthy, you had better hold your tongue. They are looking damn good on both defense and offense with Gore running the ball. (Yes, I know Gore is injured)

The 49ers almost proved the Vikings with Favre and Peterson are beatable. Right now, I'm thinking the Vikings and maybe the Ravens are the teams to beat in the NFL right now.

Dallas should play nothing but high school teams so they can be rated #11. :laugh2:
Record of teams cowboys have beat 0-6

Record of teams broncos have beat 3-6

@Denver too. So, in actuality, we are favored by 6 when including the +3 the home team gets automatically.

Enjoy it while it lasts, cause it won't last. ...and of course we know. You won't be coming back to CowboysZone while you and your Broncos are licking their wounds.

Home teams always get the 3 pts automatically BECAUSE THEY ARE @ HOME. Depending on the visiting team and how well they are playing can play a big factor into that.

When it looks to be a push and atm it does then they settle in w/ the home field 3 pt favorites. Which is where we find ourselves.

Know your football DonkOfan.

We also almost beat arguably the best team in the league in the Giants. Dallas committed 4 turnovers, the Giants committed zero and we still had a good chance to win the game. When was the last time the Browns, Raiders or Bengals made the playoffs?

Notice we were ranked #13 last week (ahead of Denver at #14). Nice to have both teams win a game and somehow they leap us in the rankings.

11. Denver Broncos (3-0)
In my first draft of this week's rankings, I had the Broncos at No. 10, but I couldn't convince myself to leave them there. Everyone knows their 3-0 is cushy soft, and I didn't want to look back after the brutal eight-game stretch they have coming up and ask myself how I ever had them in my top 10? So No. 11 is as high as I'm willing to go, Denver. Beat Dallas at home this week and we'll talk.

14. Dallas Cowboys (2-1)
Why is it that Dallas seems to be the only NFL city where the team's former stars or coaches seem to come out of the woodwork to incessantly comment on its current stars? Tony Dorsett, Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Jimmy Johnson, Roger Staubach, they all have something to say about Tony Romo, good and bad. It's got to make it even tougher to play in Dallas with all those living legends around to critique you. If I'm Romo, I'm tempted to tell them to "analyze this."

Interesting thoughts on opinions of former cowboys.

I have to agree with that, to be honest.

How many folks in here would like to have retirees coming into their job and sharpshooting them?

Agreed. But, as a firefighter I'd just turn the nozzle on them ;)
