This would be even more idiotic. Bring Mike back while letting all his coaches go. WTH????

I want to see musical coaches to the Benny Hill theme song. Shott to HC, McCarthy to OC, Al Harris to DC and Zimmer to secondary coach. Let Solari coach the wide receivers while were at it.
Or how about Jerry names a different head coach evey week during the season. It's a fluid situation.

He’s the betting favorite now to land the Saints job. They had a hold up this week getting in and out with the snow storm.

This would be a great move for them IMO. He would add stability to that franchise again. Plus no lingering owner

If I were McCarthy I'd just sit tight with my millions for a year, "Study film" in my basement and wait till the next hiring cycle rather than go back to working with Jerry.

Its coaching a sport you love with a boss you hate, who undermines you constantly, wants to put your replacement on staff, a team that is almost certain to be bad, and he put you on yet another short deal with below average salary. Its a bad job that no one with retirement money, which he has multiple times over, would consider taking, unless they are lacking in self respect. Also plenty of people retire young.
Why do you assume McCarthy hates Jerry? Just because they couldn't come to an agreement on terms does not mean that Jerry was hard to work for or that McCarthy wouldn't have gladly stayed if the money, length wasn't right.

The clownboys are already the most dysfunctional franchise in history
Al Davis’ last years with the Raiders were pretty damn off the wall. Jerruh is getting there. All we need is for him to put on a suede track suit to make it official….

MM has already decided that he would rather take his chances in the unemployment line than work for Jerry under the terms offered him. So, unless our braintrust is going to do a 180 and give MM everything he wanted plus extra inducements to salve the embarrassment of the whole situation............ this isn't happening. No way.

The NFL hiring cycle is always unpredictable. Not too long ago, Mike McCarthy was being flown by private jet to meet with the Chicago Bears while the Dallas Cowboys were rumored to be interested in Deion Sanders, Kliff Kingsbury, and Steve Sarkisian.

Now as January comes to a close, McCarthy is still looking for a job and the Cowboys are facing life with Brian Schottenheimer as their head coach.

Jerry Jones will sometimes make an offer to players and then let players test the market with the understanding that his offer remains open and he has the option of matching that offer. I see that here. Jerry says minimum pay with incentives. MM says “no” and Jerry invited him to see if he can do better. MM has not done better, and Jerry gets what he wanted all along.
