its determined by the new CBA which takes in to factors of the 3rd to 25th highest saleries at the position over the past 5 years....and derives the number...so thats what his 5 year would cost and why the cowboys are trying to extend

Lamb is in the 4th year of his rookie contract which ends after the 2023 season. Since he was a 1st round pick Dallas has the option of slapping the 5th year option on him for 2024. So instead of letting him become a free agent in 2024 or having to place the franchise tag on him in 2024 we can apply this 5th year option for 2024.

But I need to adjust to the new reality of the additional river of money flowing in from all of the new TV deals. And I think that Lamb is a fine receiver and probably deserves it in today's market.
