Declaring him a piece of garbage is about an premature as declaring TWill a piece of garbage.

He will lead the skins for years to come. By last quarter of season he will be back to last seasons firm.

Just an observation. If RG3 was "garbage" or a 1 trick pony, he would not have a 14 page thread (261 posts) on a rival board. He just would not be worth the time.

The Cowboys doth protest too much, methinks.

No. You know why it's such a long thread? Because we were force fed ever since he entered that he was so great and would be great for the next decade. And he plays in our division. So we have to hear about him a lot. He is not that good of a QB. He was a good college QB because in college, you can run around and find receivers and just your athletic ability to pound the weaker opponents into submission., In the NFL, every single player was pretty much the best on their college team at their position.

When you make RG3 a real QB who needs to drop back and make reads, he crumbles.

People do realize he is only in his 2nd year, right?

He is certainly not having a great year -- and he certainly wasn't good yesterday. But most of his mistakes (aside from a terrible offensive line) are mistakes of inexperience. MOST 2nd year QBs stare down their receivers or struggle to read defenses. ALL QBs have games like Griffin did yesterday.

I don't think I've ever seen a 2nd year player, let alone a QB that has been held to a higher standard.

And people said the same about Tebow. That it's only his first or 2nd year, etc. And where is he now? The writing is on the wall. He is not going to make it without the zone read gimmick. He can't straight drop back and read a defense and be a good QB like Russell Wilson or Kaepernick. Have you seen his throws? They are terrible.

And the Skins are not going to run zone read with how frail and injury prone he is. So you will see more of this.

So glad they gave up a lot of their future for this bum.

Tebow destroyed the number 1 Pittsburgh Steeler defense in the playoffs. His reward, to be sold out by John Elway.

Really...Tebow? Really?

What's really funny was neither Wilson nor Kaepernick were anything before the read-option. Neither have shown any capability to be a "drop-back" passer. Wilson has one of the best lines and defenses supporting him, same with Kaepernick. You cannot say that about Griffin. He got hit 13 times yesterday on 30 drop backs. Of course he's not going to have a good game. Not to mention Wilson has almost 100 less attempts this year than Griffin--wasn't that a knock of RGIII last year? That he didn't have to throw a lot? Kaepnick has a 57.1% completion percentage...how is he any better at reading defenses?

But keep calling him a bum. Ignorance is your friend.

Yeah too bad they have Peyton Manning instead of a scrub, glorified fullback. I'm sure they really miss a QB who is pretty much done in the league after less than 2 years.

They do miss him...with Peyton they couldn't win a playoff game. There is unfair bias against Tebow because of his religious beliefs.

I watched some of the Broncos game yest. They were hitting him almost every play. I think he's not 100% physically. He has leadership qualities but you have to wonder how long he can take beatings like that.

RG3 will be just fine.

I do think the unique design of the offense last year really helped him and the Commanders. The surprise is over.

But I'm not going to say RG3 is a bad player. I suspect, barring career-ending injury, he will have a long and somewhat successful career.

Actually I question how much longer will he last- unless Snyder gets him a good pass blocking O line

No, not at all. There is no bias. The guy is not accurate, has poor mechanics and has trouble reading defenses. He is Quincy Carter without all the baggage. It is the fact that Tebow is such a good guy that allowed him to last as long as he did in the NFL.

Yet they had a win streak to end that season and he beat the Pittsburgh Steelers number 1 defense in the playoffs?

No, they had a three game losing streak at the end of that regular season and then went on to beat an overrated Steeler team at home in the playoffs. If Tebow was as good as some think he is then he would be starting right now in the NFL. There is no agenda or bias preventing teams from making him their starting QB. The guy had his moment in the NFL, which many fans would love to have. Unfortunately, he isn't good enough to continue to be a starting QB despite his good character.

He is definitely a good QB. I don't like him because of his personality. Too much drama beginning of the season with Shanahan. I don't dislike opposing team players just because of the team they are playing for. But RG3 created more drama beginning of this season. Even more drama than Peyton's Indiana departure.

Sorry, in a league where every team has prayers on the field before the game, I don't buy a religious bias against Tebow. There is no conspiracy, and anyone with his beliefs are not persecuted, I don't know where that complex comes from.

He just couldn't cut it in the pros. It happens to the vast majority of guys who want to be QBs, even ones who were successful in college.

RG3 is good. Probably better than he's given credit for. I would take him over Kaepernick every day, for sure.
