"Too Young" to realize you need to stay up emotionally to match a good team?
Poor excuse.
Mickey just used it on Talkin cowboys.
Were the 92 Cowboys "too young"?

Youth has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I concur.

It's called lack of motivation, or confidence, or scheme, or can't learn the scheme, or no one knows how to teach the scheme, or no creativity, or all of the above.

I say all of the above.

But hey...that's just me and I'm...young.

young guys react better if they have a leader.

Roy was supposed to be that guy. He has failed in that role.

1 guy who is a leader puts this team over the top

What about coaching leadership? To me it is the coaches who mold the player leadership.

It's very difficult to lead if you (the should be leader) does not have any confidence in what you are supposed to be leading.

I agree I'm growing tired of the "too young" B.S. as well because just because you're a first or second year player doesn't mean you can't perform the job at hand, no more excuses just PLAY FOOTBALL!

I totally agree. That excuse is nothing but a smoke screen.

No, but the '91 Cowboys were.

biggest thing about the 91 cowboys was that they were missing a pass rusher and another good corner.

I think they were young and that played a role but that young team won a game on the road in chicago against a team that struggled to run the ball and couldnt make the big play in the passing game.

When they ran into the lions with barry sanders and a collection of big fast wr on that turf, they were set up to fail. Had to pay all their attention to sanders, and the lions spread us out and our lack of pass rush and decent corner play doomed us.

I dont think age mattered. Talent did. We didnt have it in two big areas.

Flash forward a year and we get two great players in our secondary in the draft, Kevin Smith and Darren Woodson. This took issac holt out of our starting lineup. Then we add charles haley.

All of a sudden We can rush the passer with ease and not protect either corner.

All sounds pretty familiar to me. The problem is where is that other pass rusher going to come from.

I think it is more that it is hard to lead when you are not playing as well as you should. It's the same issue we have on the O-Line with Rivera. Guys that should be leaders aren't playing well enough to lead.
