AJ Brown says the Eagles need to worry about the Cowboys trading for George Pickens

Baun was not horrible. He was primarily a special teams player in New Orleans. Rarely started at linebacker for the Saints. Philly’s special teams were an issue in 2023 and they were looking for help. I’m guessing they were more surprised than anyone over what the guy could do. He’s more a miracle than something teams should expect to happen.

No surprise the Saints turned over their coaching staff. The had him 4 years and never identified his potential. He was a solid special teamer, though.
Baun also changed positions in Philadelphia. He was a pass rushing OLB in New Orleans, like Micah. Fangio moved him to MLB because he thought he fit better there

thing is dallas has owned philly for the most part with Dak, its losing game to teams they should be beat needs to change.

Some of you with the whole overly focused on where guys are drafted or if they're undrafted or how might say we're paid as free agents is just insane it's out of control....

We've seen guys the likes of Tom Brady brought Purdy Terrell Davis Tony Romo Kurt Warner Deron Bland let's stay in the now who was picked in the 5th round these everybody is good as the Eagles corners...

Just because they were picked high isn't going to make them have a steady ascending career it doesn't mean they're not beatable.. I don't know what your point is but that doesn't mean Elam either is a bad pickup we could turn his career around he could be a pro bowler just like Zach Bond I mean you still don't want to hear some of these comps but how about we stick to this then ,

You remember we practically gave away Jimmy Smith what happened to his career yeah that's what I thought guys like that it happens a lot and I'll use something more current I mean we gave away Chadarius ward to Kansas City for peanuts he turned out to be a pro bowler... how do you know they gave up on Elam too soon nobody knows that but guys like Butler look pretty good free agents coming from the UFLI mean you keep overly focused on where the Cowboys have picked these players up but when other teams do it you seem to gloss over it...

That will be the fun part of this year is to watch training camp and preseason with a whole lot of? marks, new Players coming in, we get to see with the draft picks and the free agents do or don't do that's the fun part of waiting this entire arduously long offseason for football for a very short season so I prefer to take a look at it with my own eyes before I make a judgment....
It's not a question of where they are drafted. It's a question of accomplishments and fair expectations. Elam was drafted in the first and failed in Buffalo. It's not fair to expect him to come here and turn it around. Carson was not only drafted late, but he also did not play well when forced into action.

I prefer to go by what I see instead of what I hope. All we can use at this time is the evidence at hand. Right now, that shows that the only quality corner we have who is healthy is Bland. That could change, but right now I would not fear Dallas' corners.

And yet you've seen nothing absolutely nothing from this year's defense or players that you're discussing acting like they're going to be what they were in the past versus maybe they've taken a step this year so your eyes have seen nothing so we're having a discussion about nothing I don't care what you've saw last year or what you've heard that's my point players can take a step players can be better than expected...

There have been plenty of players and I already mentioned one when Ward left here he was nothing an undrafted corner that turned into a pro bowler for Kansas City who by the way let him walk didn't sign him to a big deal went to the 49ers but that's just one name I'm telling you people can change teams and do unexpected things the only way we're going to see this is not in preseason not in training camp not in practice reports of guys playing in shorts what we need to see,

Is them play an actual games with game plans so I guess we're going to be waiting a long time before we can have this debate rekindled because in the meantime neither one of us can be right we don't know what's going on behind the scenes in the minds of the defensive coaches...
.
I'm betting they have a plan i'm betting they're going to implement it without much of us knowing a damn thing about it at all these little content creator posts that you see are the only thing the Cowboys want you to see all this stuff I see On Twitter Facebook watching Justin Fields in shorts people talking about dark and shorts that like they're about to be Hall of Famers that went against air no we're seeing what they want us to see we're hearing what they want us to hear how about we wait and see how it's going to work out...

Now say this again i'm betting to have a plan if that plan doesn't look like it's coming together they will go out and get another player they did it with Gilmore a couple years ago there could be a trade in the works for a guy like Ramsey this is not over it's just developing just now ota's is the beginning of it all then all the mini camps and then training camp and then preseason and then roster cut downs and then and only then will we know what the coaches are thinking about the players we have...

If it makes you feel better, you can stay up at night worrying about all this and I will not... You should fear Dallas corners because you can't beat them.... By the way other teams are not playing just our corners they're playing our defense they're playing our pass rushers they're playing this scheme and the game plan that the defensive coaches are bringing is not just about the coverages.. It's the entire defense that needs to play well sometimes a great pass rush will cover up some inconsistencies at corner...

So I say again you might be a little premature in your judgment I'll see you in September to talk about it you know the real it not the mind game it's the all the guessing...

Shows us nothing because you've never seen him in this defense playing in a real game enough said that's my short version we'll see you in September to talk about how this is going to work out or not but remember,

it's more about total defense game planning scheming that pass rush could definitely help those corners whichever corners that might make this team corners that may not even be on this team right now that could end on the team in September....

so we could talk about it in September.... ;)

We have to stay up all night just to read your responses. Lose the “I’m telling you” verbiage. It’s condescending.

I remember the days when the eagles were irrelevant and had never won anything. But, oh how the tables have turned. Now the Cowboys are afraid of them! Who is responsible for that happening?
Cowboys are not afraid. It is some of the fans that are afraid.
We see in here every day, ad nauseum.

Maybe afraid was the wrong word. I just meant that the eagles used to be the Cowboy whipping post, and now the tables have turned.

The Eagles and their fans always hated Dallas. As you are right, It was Dallas, and I will add, Washington, through in the NYG here and there when Parcells and LT were there. Eagles were always an after thought of all 3 teams actually. Like the red headed step child.
St. Louis Cardinals were glad to move to Phoenix to get away from the NFCE.

Yes, now the Eagles have been the front runners for the most part. Though they still have not won back to back NFCE title since the mid 2000's. Which no team has. Philly may pull that off this year though. I have them as the favorites to win the division.

You have the eagle winning the division? Hater! Go follow another team, hater!

(damn, I hope I did that right).

Who are our Philly fans?
Me for one, but you really wouldn’t know it. I don’t troll anyone here or spout SB champions crap on this site.

AJ is more of a student of the game than a lot of peeps want to give him credit for. Sure, he knows not to give the Cowboys bulletin board material, but he’s also being logical.

I’ve said to myself for years that getting a legit threat at WR#2 has been like kryptonite to the Cowboys. You just went from 0 to 100 and it will make a big difference. Great move by the Cowboys.
