Sifting Through The Trash Bin

Benny Logan and Navarro Bowman and we have just improved.

Then Reid just to upset folks.

Damien Williams is a very good pass catching back . Downside to him is that he isn't much of a between the tackles runner .Used to return kicks too.

Pretty good list. I wonder what Boston is asking for. He’s a player I thought would get signed early.

One of the frustrating parts of this offseason so far is that it is not very clear what this FO’s strategy is.

I like the idea of not overpaying for high priced mediocre talent as many teams seem to have done this offseason. I like putting more emphasis on having a quality draft. But if there are no FAs signed that can help this team now, it puts enormous pressure on the draft having immediate impact. That’s not impossible, but it puts all eggs in one basket.

Give me Boston and Freeman . I can assure you both will start

Logan would be great if he's motivated. Otherwise will take 1T in rd 1 or 2

Problem is, none of these things are likely to happen

There are players available that would be starters and upgrades. Just a matter whether we would pull the trigger.

Eric Ebron is available. He may not be what people thought coming out of college, but he has still averaged about 55 catches the past few years in an offense that has never really featured a TE. He is clearly better than Hanna, Swaim or Jarwin.

As for the guys mentioned in the original post, I do think Mewhort could be an upgrade over Cooper but he has some of the same issues...mainly his health. Logan would be a huge upgrade, as would Johnathan Hankins. Either of the safeties would be a help, would prefer Boston but he is going to be expensive at a place where we don't normally spend money.

There still are a few guys that would be upgrades, just a matter of whether the FO will get off vacation and try to improve the team.

Two issues with Ebron - one, he drops a lot of passes. Second, he can't block, even a little bit. If a TE can't block, he won't play in Dallas.

Are we sifting? I think Jerry is like a stalking tiger waiting to re up with Jeff Heath.
