Didn't realize he is still a free agent. He was a solid DT for the Chargers since being drafted by them in the 1st round of 2011. He has 24 sacks in his career (7 in 2012) and 207 tackles. Good DT against the run and mainly played in a 3-4 system during his time with the Chargers.

I say bring him in on a 1-year deal, which will allow the front office to go best player available in the draft two weeks from now.

Not a good idea

Cowboys are already set on the Dline, aside from the draft where they are likely to address the DT position.
People thinking we are going to add more to the DL isn't thinking correctly. If we draft anybody it will be like you said at DT and i really don't think we sign anybody else unless it's for camp body. Only so many spots available and almost all of them are taken. I think LB, corner and safety are the only thing we draft on defense unless a top talent falls.

At this point, teams are mostly going to wait until they try their hand in the draft. Guys like Liuget will go pretty quick afterwards.

I do think it's likely we sign a DT if we don't draft one by say the 4th round. Still holding out a sliver of hope for Jernigan on a 1 year prove it deal.

Cowboys signed Covington and Hyder. Luiget is probably better fit as a 2 gapping NT.

If we were to sign Liuget and he's healthy, he'd immediately be the best DT on the roster. This kid is good. Health a huge factor, though.

He has been a full time starter sine his rookie year in 2011 but he just turned 29.

He'll likely be too expensive to be a backup. At a minimum he'll get significant incentive money in a contract.

I think he is unsigned because his agent was waiting until he had recovered from the injury that put him on IR last season.

Everyone we have at DT is expendable if there's someone better out there. I don't see what this front office and Marinate sees in Maliek Collins. He is an injury prone backup that's not worth not replacing if the chance arrives. Even with Irving chopping block galore.

Irving isn't on the team and will never play another again in the NFL.

Yes indeed I should have been more clear I was referring to his treatment when playing the past four seasons. I feel like we get too locked in on guys and unwilling to get better. We get a guy like Crawford and stand Pat, Collins comes around has trouble staying on the field we stick it out.

Vet min if he takes it??

What’s the worst that could happen? We usually churn the bottom of the roster like crazy anyways
