Or...it could mean that he's just doing the job that a good coach does...finding players and leaving a foundation for a good team when he does eventually leave.

Just because he's evaluating next years draft doesn't mean that he's staying, it only means that he's looking out for the team that he has so far put together...

I hope he stays...but, he's not some spring chicken anymore. But, he has turned this team in the right direction for the long term...

Or it could mean Parcells is telling the truth that he doesn't make his mind up if he's coaching the following year.

I can't believe that people are still spending time speculating on whether or not Parcells will be returning.

He has shown that he can change his mind on a dime.

The one thing we should know about Parcells is....don't try to figure him out.

make my sig slacker!

I think the best indication is his weekly demeanor. He's having a good time of late. The more success this team and his hand picked players have, the more likely he will be to stick around, IMO.

Many seem to think that he'll retire if the Cowboys somehow win the Superbowl. That's not how I see it at all. The more success, the more likely he'll be in Dallas in 2007.

You're probably right. The better we do the more likely he stays. The more we melt down the more likely he leaves.

I know it was only a litte bitty quote and shouldnt make too much of it, but I was a bit bummed out as well when he mentioned looking at a position we are stocked at (Ellis is older but Carpenter and Burnett are top picks) I would have loved to hear something about o-line prospects.
Although with his luck while picking them for us......maybe thats a good thing.:D

1) Our pass rush is still inconsistent at best.

2) Ellis is 2 and out, maybe 3.

3) Guys who were 4-3 LB's in college don't last long as starters at 3-4 OLB in pros.

4) Although Ellis is playing well, he's not a perfect fit.

5) You wanna see our D tank....Have Ware go down and have KB starting at WOLB long-term......

Net-net we need more pass rushers from the OLB spot for depth and for the future.

BP shouldn't have to mention something about adding OL. We will. Probably 2-3.

Actually, Shanle and Fujita are in Orleans. And, Fujita had a pretty damn solid night last night. Though, I don't believe Fujita was cut. He wastraded for a conditional draft pick.If Fuji's numbers and starts stay where he is at, we may be looking at an additional 4th rounder this year, if memory serves correct.

SS:star:

Fujita was a free agent, we traded Shanle. Neither was cut

i used the term "cut" generically....
we let Fujita walk because we didn't really need him. We probably could've had him back if we wanted him bad enough.
Shanle was going to get cut because we were so stocked at LB and his upside was limited...so we traded him.
Guess I should've said "got rid of" or "let go"....

I'm not sure that we didn't want Fujita to an extent. He was signed by New Orleans, then we responded by signing Rocky Boiman.

I guess you could say we didn't want him bad enough to pursue him very hard, but I don't know that we didn't want him back at all.

I don't always like BPs coaching style. Infact, I downright disagree with his approach.

I would love for him to stay on in some matter as a consultant for the draft. He can go take a crap every year when the second round starts though.
As long as he makes it back for the 7th round. That is where he really shines.

I for one will be glad when BP rides into the sunset. I give him a lot of credit for building a good defense but his handling of the offense and QB position downright suck in my humble opinion. We wasted the last two years on old QB's when we should have been giving Romo or *gulp* Henson, some playing time that would be paying a lot of dividends this year. I have no faith in Bledsoe, and feel reasonably secure he will choke when we need him the most. I don't like the TO signing either. Heck we can't even keep the guy on the field this year when he is not in his team destroying mode. Next year there could be hell to pay for that signing.
