I originally thought that Cassel could be a suitable backup,
Not sure why. Team after team couldnt wait to get rid of him after they figured out HE COULDNT PLAY.

Anyone that comes here as a backup will probably get exposed.
Cassell is a solid player and anyone who has watched him play before he got Jason Garretted knows that.
He's won 35 NFL games.

I originally thought that Cassel could be a suitable backup, give him a year etc.... but after viewing these past few weeks....guy just cant play anymore...at least we know we need a vet backup and rookie for next year!! onto the next issue, and so on...
Cassell is on a one-year deal anyway. The collection of QB's that will be available after this season will be interesting. Granted there probably won't be any guy there I would want starting for a full season, but in a short-term situation– yeah.
He was exposed this preseason when he lost his job to some guy named Tyrod Taylor in Buffalo.
I look at it from the other side. Last year when Weeden came in for a game and a half he (somehow) did enough to convince Jerruh he would be a suitable backup once again. If he had been given 7 or however many games that Cassell has gotten he too would have been exposed, and maybe we wouldn't even be in this position. There's no mistake to be made with Cassell, there should be no belief that they can walk into next season with this guy as the primary backup, now they can get serious about acquiring a legitimate backup QB.

How on earth is a Cowboys player being "exposed" a silver lining?
