Silver lining

Like I said before the season started, this is a 7 win team, with a ceiling of about 9 wins. At this pace, we may be lucky to win 5.

Who am I kidding. There is no silver lining. It’s been a long time, if ever, that I’ve seen such a horrible defense. I know it’s just not the coaching but some of the players as well, but some decent coaching would eliminate some of those mistakes.

Once the offense lost Cee Dee and the fumble they went downhill fast. Couldn’t take advantage of a solid running game because they were so far behind.

Never giving up even during this dark time.

Go Cowboys.
This is a weak team that is going to finish dead last in the Eastern Division!

Pappydog hasn't been seen around here since May. I wonder if he's doing ok?

Thanks Horseman, you, leeb.and Mountain will have to carry on till Ric is back. You guys give me laughter I need. Hopefully he is OK. I remember my old friend Aria, back in the day going at it about Zeke and Saquon and then he never came back on, hope he is OK too.

I’m not accepting that at all.
I am fine with that, but how many times does this have to happen before you stop calling people haters when they point out exactly what is happening ahead of time?

You do it year after year. Disagreeing is one thing, but throwing out "hater" and "find another team" gets old when you get proven wrong and don't own up to it (and/or just disappear).

It's okay to be a fan and still talk critically during the offseason and season.

Hope where there is no hope. You see light where there is total darkness. Remember, “It’s always darkest, right before it goes pitch black”.

Jerry has slowly filled this roster with below average talent. We all saw this coming

Every time I read one of your posts, I wonder what you are actually like…. In real life. I can’t imagine you are a constant troll.

Then I read the next post in the thread and I’ve completely forgotten about you.
It’s called sarcasm.

There are some silver linings on defense.

1. Eberflus won't last much longer at this rate.
2. Revel and Overshown are going to be back at some point.
3. Ezeiruaku is starting to generate some pressure and could breakout soon.

Silver lining? I guess it’s the 2 firsts in the next 2 drafts.

Ain’t no silver lining for this season. Barring a miracle.
Yeah there's no silver lining here. This team is nowhere with this Defense and chicken-**** $60M QB.

My silver lining is the sun will rise on a new day tomorrow.

Dallas is now averaging 125 yards per game.

Green Bay is averaging 98 yards per game.

I was looking at the schedule and it doesn't look great. I know this any given Sunday rule but on paper I see the Panthers and the Jets and maybe the Giants.

Eagles
Commanders
Chiefs
Chargers
Denver
Arizona
LV

Realistically who are we beating? We have a HOF defense, meaning our defense puts QBs in the HOF. Caleb Williams just abused us. He's not very good. I can see finishing last in the division easily.

appreciate your fortitude

The only potential silver lining here is that maybe the Cowboys will finally have a bit of a sense of urgency around what we are seeing. This is exactly why I hated the week 1 moral victory, and exactly why I hated the no padded practice day last week because they "fought hard". This is a team that is not performing to their abilities and really needs some tough love right now.

Waiting on this team to get healthy and hope that Overshown, Bland, etc. save the day is not a strategy. When you can't get pressure with four you need to bring extra help. When your defense drops 7 and still leaves receivers running wide open its a waste to drop 7 into coverage. Both of your OTs have reps where they don't even lay a hand on pass rushers. Your offense really hasn't been that good, but you've benefited from a RB and QB who had been playing at an unsustainable pace. We need 11 guys playing well on offense, not 2. We need 11 guys who can actually play as a unit on defense.

I'm a huge fan of what Schottenheimer has tried to do with this group, but one of the biggest differences in being a coordinator vs HC is that as HC you can't always be the fun guy and you have to take on the role of authoritarian when needed. This team desperately needs their HC to come in and mix it up. I'd have several guys hitting the bench this week and making a their positions open competition in practice. He also needs to not be making recommendations to his DC, but needs to demand that Eberflus mix up his approach on defense. You've been torched back to back weeks by QBs who are not exactly the toughest on the schedule this year. Eberflus staying stubborn in his approach is just as much on Shotty as it is on Eberflus. There should never be the excuse of hes an offensive or defensive guy when you're the HC. You take on the role of HC because you're ready to oversee the entire team.
