The wait is over. Here’s some very simple advice for the Cowboys war room the next two days. We have a very good talent evaluator in Will McClay and his system of evaluating players has been very good the last few years...so....Jerry, Stephen and JG:

1. Don’t over think it. Stick to the board your talent evaluators have given you.
2. If it’s a close decision, go with the guy from a Power 5 conference.
3. Pick guys you really want. Never let someone talk you into a player you don’t like a lot to begin with.
4. Stay away from the druggies or off the field bad guys. Most of them will burn you eventually at some point.
5. “Smart is better than “Splash”. The splash pick means nothing except to fools and fantasy drafters. (Have you learned that yet Jerry?)
6.The late round picks matter too. You never know where a diamond is buried.

Go Cowboys.

our system has worked so far....little channel our inner 2016 and hit some big talents in 2 3 and 4!

Gamble on players with issues in the late rounds.

If the evaluations are close, go for the position of greater need.

Don't let what the competition does influence what you do.

Especially agree with the last one.

Great points.

The Cowboys have actually had a string of solid drafts since 2010. The only two misses in this stretch (not counting late picks) so far was the trade-up for Mo Claiborne in 2013 and the Taco Charlton pick in 2017. And Taco still has a chance to turn things around.

I am prepared to be disappointed tonight. All this chatter of Hill reminds me of the reports that were leaking that we wanted Elliott.

We’ll reach for Hill and I’ll loathe Marinelli even more.

I hope I am wrong.

Good advice.
Let’s make a splash tonite. Last nite was brutal.

Who can we trade to move up?

They've been pretty good at all this since 2011. Gregory was a stretch and it's bitten us in the butt.

Don’t forget about the huge bust with Claiborne in 2012 which we moved up in 1st using two picks for.

And how about that great 2nd rounder with Escobar? Lol
