You would think we're rebuilding but I think we're still contending and expect to contend next season. Hamlin is the best safety on the roster. He's not going anywhere and rightfully so. Ellis isn't going anywhere until Spencers acts like he has some sense and plays up to his potential.

I was going to ask the same thing. I have mixed feeling about Owens being released but he was 35 I don't see releasing a 35 year old player as a sign of rebuilding the entire team when we have a lot of young and talented players on this team.

I see where he's coming from. Maybe rebuilding is the wrong word but it does seem like the team is getting younger. Its funny though because everyone who has left this team have been 20 year olds except TO lol. Pac-Man mid 20's, Canty' mid 20's, Roy in his late 20's.....Not really rebuilding.

I agree with the recent posts here - this team is not rebuilding. We had a great draft last year - maybe the ebst in the NFL - and have a great nucleus of talented players that should keep us in the hunt for a long time.

If we have even half the draft we had last year and can hit on a couple late round gems watch out! This team is going to be better than ever.

The only reason they were pro bowl players is because they were voted in ,not based on performance, or a playoff win.

How is this years team any different than last years team without Roy? Roy played all of 3 games for us. This isn't something new that we've never dealt with so it's not any bigger a void than it was last season.

I love Roy, probably more than most, and I'm sad to see him go but it really won't be that hard to replace one average SS with another one.

We're going to lose TO's great production, no doubt, and that doesn't just grow on trees but losing 1 player off of an offense with quite a few playmakers does not make a team rebuilding.

You're going to an extreme here because you don't like that they cut TO. That isn't the end of the world and it's not going to send this team into a rebuilding plan.

We dropped the best WR and best Safety on our team I think we're re building. Just because you've had it out for these guys don't make it any more valid. Let's see how defense approach our pro bowl TE now that TO is gone. Our pro bowl RB who hasn't gone over 1000 yards who's only time he was the featured back was last year he didn't even go a full season with out being hurt and might not even start this year.....what ever. We have major holes to fix that inserting random player wont help and after this year when we don't make the playoffs again coaches will be fired and etc etc etc.

Not having RW hurt us last year if you don't want to acknowledger that then that's on you. The crappy safety play is getting a pass from when RW was back then none of them are better than RW none of them brings what he brings and none of them scare opposing players.

I don't want to hear this non sense like oh we look for RW in coverage of course you will. Same for Keith Davis Ken Hamlin any other garbage we've rolled out with out RW. TE on safety will be in the offensive favor no matter who back there.

Excatly, were serioulsy have major voids on this roster , just because weve let 2 players go in the past day or so doesnt mean everything is fixed, we spent a 1st rounder on a WR who isnt going to be the guy we thought he was going to be. And a SS who is already below average.
