Per Mickey, this Singletary interview may be a legit attempt to satisfy the Rooney Rule. Apparently there is a list of qualified minority candidaates and Bowles is not on that list.

well, if you remember, norv turner and mike singletary both coached for the 49ers. And turner said he would have to bring his own defensive guy, and he also said, a personnel guy.

Now that defensive guy could be the def coordinator with the raiders, but i think its singletary that norv turner wants to bring to dallas. As far as personnel guy, not sure if jerry jones would put up with that.

And even if they stand to be good.. would you imagine they'll be as good as they can be in their first year.. or ya reckon it might take a couple years to really show it?

Absolutely! This excites me again. This forum has gone to the hot place in a hand basket ever since speculation began that Norv would be our next HC. Bring in Singletary to coach the Defense and make him an Asst HC. That's a slight step up over what he is doing in San Fran. Come on over Mikey!

Considering where they were over the last 3-4 years they played very well last year. the defense kept them in a lot of games. This is significant improvement over the previous years. I'm not sure how long Mike has been there. I leave that up to you stat guys. However, I seem to understand that their defense has been consistently improving.

They we're not that much worse than ours. Considering the talent we have on that side of the ball I expected to see a bigger difference when I looked up the stats. They gave up less than 4 points and about 22 yards per game more than us.
