Albert Haynesworth suspended for the final 4 games.

Well this might be a compromise to the conflicting reports of him getting cut. Some say was going to get cut, some say he was not.

So he is not cut, but he is not really with the team now if this suspension report is true.

Either way it is pretty funny as the skins once again pay a huge amount for a player that underperformed for them.

Waiting for some skins fan to come in and lecture me, or others, about the actual dollar amount blah blah blah.

NFL Network says its for conduct determental to the team. He's gone from the Commanders. I doubt the union can get this reversed either. He'll go to a 4-3 team. Hope its not the Bears or another contender. He can play when he wants to and is in good enough shape.

Cold shoulder to Shanahan gets Haynesworth suspended

The Shanahan-Haynesworth feud officially has gone to the next level.

The Commanders have announced that Haynesworth has been suspended four games for conduct detrimental to the team. It’s the maximum penalty that a club can impose under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

“Despite the club’s numerous attempts to persuade Albert Haynesworth to abide by the terms of his contract, he has repeatedly refused to cooperate with our coaching staff in a variety of ways over an extended period of time,” coach Mike Shanahan said in a team-issued release. “Among other things, he has consistently indicated to our defensive coaches that he refuses to play in our base defense or on first-down or second-down nickel situations. He has also refused to follow the instructions of our coaches both during weekly practices and during actual games as well.

“Yesterday, when Albert was at Commander Park, he told our General Manager Bruce Allen that he [Haynesworth] would no longer speak with me,” Shanahan said. “Although suspending any player is not a decision that a head coach enters into lightly, I believe the situation has reached the point where the club clearly has no alternative.”

Schadenfreude at its finest. Read Tom Boswell's column in the Wash Post to learn how big of a locker room cancer this guy's become. Of course, you still have apologists like Mike Wilbon who insist that 50% of the blame goes to Shanahan and the Skins. Fail.

I figured that would probably happen. It didn't make sense to cut him. That would have only beeen rewarding him since he could then sign with another team. This punishes him somewhat.
