That is probably what they will try to do. I think they would need to present a pretty big list of significant stuff in order to win a judgment. I just don't see enough precedent that would lead me to believe they will recoup much of that signing bonus.

I figure Haynesworth's next step is appeal his suspension without pay to the league. He will probably win, too. He will still get the suspension, but I am sure he will still collect a paycheck.

No. He will lose about 850,000 for these four games (which will probably stand, if the case was documented well enough).

His signing certainly marked the high tide of folly under Danny and VC, but I don't see how this move reflects badly on the new FO. At worst you could say we should have traded him for a 4th round pick this year. Shanahan tried to get him playing ball, Haslett was the good cop to Shanahan's bad cop, but in the end AH was all about AH. Remember he complained last year that our 4-3 was the wrong 4-3 for him, so it's not just an issue about the type of D. He is just a rich diva. He can be a heckuv an athlete when he shows up, but mostly not so much...

Nonsense, I have it on the best authority that Haynesworth would not be a distraction this year and that none of it stemmed from playing NT. He would be a great DE, and a force at that position since he would be put in a position to succeed with Shanahan.

The post on the main forums about the Commanders replacing Cerrato, Zorn, and Campbell with Shanahan, Allen and McNabb, and getting worse in the process is hilarious.

Man, that locker room is a complete mess. Thank ya Danny. Ya make Matt Millen look like the best there ever was.

I don't see what evidence they could have that's not hearsay. They could say Hayensworth refused to participate in practice, but what proof would there be? Even if practices were video taped, you would likely need to hear him refuse to participate.

I really have no idea what the burden of proof is. AH has acknowledged that he wasn't feeling well last Thursday, then went out drinking till 1230(AH says 1230, some media say it was closer to 2am) then he didn't practice Friday, saying he was sick.

Also, according to the Def. Coord, Haslett, AH refused going into the game on 1st and 2nd down. I have no idea how you corroborate that, so it may or may not be a point of order.

Finally, he told the GM, Bruce Allen, that he refused to talk with the head coach. That's not disputed, and I would think that alone is worthy of the 4 game suspension without pay.

I can't see any way that they get any signing bonus money back.
