It's not as well done and not the replacement for that real radio that Sirius replaces for some.Im surprised internet radio hasn't killed it off yet.
I use this in my car because of my refusal to listen to terrestrial radio after 25 years in the biz and the greedy scumbags ruining it.
Just got an email that they've added online, smart phone and tablet to it at no additional charge. Activated mine and it's got another group of channels available online that drill down on some of the more general stations like Alternative, First Wave and Lithium and even Country for you Yee Hawyers.
Smart of them to do this because now I will use it in more places instead of just in the auto and get more attached to it.
I also use Apple Music for selecting specific artists and adding this to the mix will be most welcome.
Anyway just a heads up for the musicheads, in case you're interested.
You can use the app and either Bluetooth or aux cable in your car. That was a great deal! They sent me a thing saying they'd reactivate mine for 3 years for $99. (That's $2.75 a month.) It was tempting, but I moved the radio to my son's car, so I'd only use the app and online functions.
I've found that there are a few places near my house where I lose XM in my car for about a minute. If I use the phone app, I don't lose it in those spots. It was almost a deal breaker when I bought my new car as it wasn't XM ready. Didn't want to rely on the app because of potential spotty cell service in some places I travel. I bought an XM receiver/tuner ( https://www.vaistech.com/product-category/satellite-radio/) that plugged into the back of the factory radio and actually bracketed to it and displays on the cars screen almost like factory. Ran the antenna to the back window (hiding the cable all the way). It's been a good compromise. XM gave the free 3 months full station access. Lately I've been trying to warm up to the NFL channel. So-so reviews. Gil Brandt does co-host a program though.
My regular listening channels are Chris Russo's Mad Dog Sports, some ESPN programming, Fox news and Fox sports, then a few music channels (older classic rock, outlaw country, blues). Occasionally I listen to CNN and the POTUS channel just for a basis of what the progressive/libs are up to.
Iv'e been a subscriber since 2007. I renegotiate my contract, by phone, every 5-6 months. Usually ends up being $5-6. Just something to keep me awake and engaged on some longer commutes.
I also Iheart Radio some podcasts.
