Not a chance....he isn't even on the roster. His brother Phil is though.Just throwing this out there..........by mid-season Fred Mafah will be the Cowboys starting running back.

This is the correct comparison.Blue is closer to Jahmyr Gibbs and De'von Achane in form and stature. Both of those guys are pretty much number 1's even with having a committee.
Gibbs showed last year and year before that when Montgomery went down he was able to handle the full work load.
Not saying Blue will equal their production, but in terms of stature and form he's right there.
Not true.I watched almost every game of his collegiate career at Texas. He’s an explosive weapon rushing and receiving.
But he wasn’t an every down type starting RB. I believe he averaged 12 touches a game.
So while I’m excited we drafted a potentially explosive weapon I’m not at all convinced he’s capable of starting carrying the ball 20-25 times a game.
And one footnote he did have a tendency to leave the ball on the ground. Overall a great 5th round pick. But probably not our answer for full time starting RB.
Unfortunately the RB I thought we had our eye on from Texas Tech didn’t go until 6th round . Tahj Brooks led Big 12 in rushing. And he was a more typical starting RB . We had an opportunity to draft him.
Now with Brooks and Blue that could have been a very formidable answer for RB.
I’m reading 6 fumbles here: https://www.foxsports.com/college-football/jaydon-blue-player-stats?category=rushing&seasonType=regNot true.
Blue fumbled the ball 4 times in 2024. Other than this past season, he only fumbled it 1 other time in 2023, so it's not as if he has a fumbling problem every year.
Not true.No
He averaged 221 lbs throughout his career. In his first 2 years he weighed 216 and 218 respectivly but he was 220 + for the rest of his playing days.
No matter
Well, 2024 is when he had his most playing time. It’s not a serious problem but when you’re a backup or situational player only averaging 12 touches a game it is a noteworthy stat. Not true.

What is a NFL starting running back?Yea , that’s what I thought. I really don’t see a NFL caliber starting RB on our roster. And RB by Committee might not be a bad thing . Blue could still be a major contributor. Nothing wrong with that scenario.
Also here’s a couple articles mentioning Blue’s fumble concerns. Not true.
Going into the combine he was 200 lbs. He was listed at 209 lbs for several years. Because I remember the games and the weight he was listed at.
Hes mostly listed at 216, but that was only the last couple years.
No way he averaged anywhere near 221 lbs for his career.

Do you really need me to define ?What is a NFL starting running back?
You said, "We don't have one.", then said, "No one knows at this point." That was the reason I asked the question. Did not Williams start in the NFL? Was not Sanders an integral part of the Philly running game? Dallas has talent at the position and I am looking forward to seeing them in action.Do you really need me to define ?
Do you actually believe we have a proven legit NFL caliber starting RB on this roster?
No one knows at this point. And why it’s a valid question and or concern. Unless of course RB By Committee is the plan.
Blue wasn’t a starter in college. Why would we think he’s a starter potential in NFL. Our FO or coaching staff hadn’t even stated that’s the plan for him to start.
Instead we should be pleased we drafted a potential weapon coming out of the backfield who brings speed and big play ability.
He thinks he knows but he doesn't there's been several running back by committees but somehow you can see like the Rams win a Super Bowl with Cam Acres cam freaking acres who who is that not much you've seen Cincinnati get there with Milton I don't consider him a elite running back i've seen many over the years that Saquan Barclays and anomaly the Super Bowl winning teams have had very average running backs wasn't it 2017 who is the Eagles running back in 2017 in that Super Bowl with Nick Foles at quarterback is he a starting quarterback what's a starting NFL caliber quarterback? What is a NFL starting running back?
The premise of this thread was comparing Blue to Emmitt and Dorsett . Which we’d assume they believe Blue was starting material. You said, "We don't have one.", then said, "No one knows at this point." That was the reason I asked the question. Having talent at the position is TBD.You said, "We don't have one.", then said, "No one knows at this point." That was the reason I asked the question. Did not Williams start in the NFL? Who was the starter at RB is time at Texas?I'm no hater toward any man... but, he wasn't even the No 1 RB for Texas. Whether he has size, height or speed - it's a pretty speculative that he could even be a starter for us much less a HOF great one.
I keep asking the question - who is the Cowboys running back?
There RB's on this team that have played well in the NFL. Also, being a rookie has no bearing on talent or capabilities. We will all know once the season begins. This assumption is not historically based. The premise of this thread was comparing Blue to Emmitt and Dorsett . Which we’d assume they believe Blue was starting material.
The bottomline is we don’t have one at this point. We aren’t even sure if any of these are expected to take that role .
So I’d argue it’s a fair position to take at this time.
How can you say "worst in the league?" That is hyperbole at its finest.Having talent at the position is TBD.
On paper we have the worst collection of RBs in the league. Not good for a team that wants to run more.
Id be looking to add someone come cut time. Who knows what Jed will do. Hes more inclined to make duece the highest paid RB in the nfl.
