I'd rather they get Briggs than CJ, that's for sure. And if they did get CJ, do you think that would impact who we take at 22?

for us to move up to get CJ i could see us moving up to #3. If Oakland doesnt pick him I dont think the Lions will either. We would probably have to give up #6 and probably 1st next year. Man thats a lot to move up 3 spots.

It's really hard to see Al Davis not taking Russell. Jimmy Johnson always said you don't pass on franchise QB's. Russell sure looks like one to me.

Russell makes too much sense for the Raiders, or AL Davis in particular, big, an athlete and can throw the long-ball, it will keep Davis' dream alive of an Air Coryell offense

It just looks like a match made in heaven.

I also don't think they will trade Moss.

A couple of weeks ago, Jerry Jones said something to the effect of The only reason for discussing the draft or trades this time of year is to spread misinformation. He's probably right about that.

I AGREE, JM Is Al's kinda franchise QB. WR's are products of their systems. They can't throw it to themselves. QBs on the other hand, touch the ball on every play.

TB wants CJ badly, which means that the Skins quite likely have to jump up to 3 (or pay TB that much more for the loss of CJ). I don't want them to get CJ but have faith that they will give up WAY too much for him in so doing.

Unless you're Joey Gibbs, in which case this time of year is for bragging about your smarty-pants plans.

If the Associated Press was right today then David Carr will probably be an Oakland Raider by Friday and if that happens it won't be Russell with the first pick, it will be Calvin Johnson.

I expect Oakland to unload Moss to Green Bay probably for a 3rd or 4th round choice. Green Bay has also had talks with San Diego about Michael Turner supposedly wanting San Diego to take just a first this year and a 3rd next year but SD wants either a 1st and 3rd this year or 1st this year and conditional 2nd next year that could become a 1st.

Should see things start to move once Carr decides where to play which will be either Oakland, Miami or Minnesota.

Washington's defensive line is an absolute disaster area. CJ is a luxury, not a pressing need.

Joe Gibbs acknowledges that the Commanders have talked to two teams about trading up, and hinted Calvin Johnson would be a consideration.

Gibbs isn't great at draft secrets. The Commanders let the media know they were set on Jason Campbell when they traded into the first round two years ago, and the deal was done before the draft. We can guess one team Washington has talked to: Detroit. Cleveland could be the other. They could also trade down to acquire Lance Briggs.
Source: Washington Post

The madness never ceases.

Jumping from 6 to 2-3 is not madness in my book. That would be a great trade up but not for too much.

How is Washington going to pay for it though?

I agree with Jimmy, if you don't have a QB, you do whatever it takes to get one, and build the rst of the team after.

That being said, the Raiders have passed on Phillip Rivers, Ben Rothlisberger, Matt Leinart and Jay Cutler while convincing themselves they could win with the likes of Kerry Collins, Andrew Walter, Marcus Tuiasasaopo and Aaron Brooks.

Has Al learned his lesson? I doubt it but we'll see. I love C.J, but there is no way in heck I pass up a chance at a franchise QB unless I already have one. They should take Russel or Quinn IMO.

Peter King:

Wild cards: The Commanders (six), Dolphins (nine) and Broncos (21) could all try to improve their position. Denver has already tried and failed to swing a deal with Detroit, and Miami has been in the market for a quarterback. On Sunday, Washington brass scoffed at the notion that the team would move up to get Johnson. But in truth the Skins are the only club outside the top five that can put together a package of picks and players attractive enough to snag Johnson.

What picks??

and what players?

It depends on who we're dealing with. Betts hasn't been trade bait yet, but who knows? To move up 3 or 4 spots, he might get the job done...

:hammer:
they probably want somebody else to fall to them or want to increase the trade value of the pick. i too see the raiders taking cj 1st overall.
