So you would rather see your son cry/be upset over a loss than cheer for a team that had racial issues 50 years ago (as did the majority of America (and the world for that matter) at the times).

You might not like the team name but they are no longer a racist organization.

I guess you never go to any of the southern states either because after all they had slavery and Jim Crow laws.

There is being principled and then there is being stupid about it.

Cheering against your son is being stupid.

I hate the Eagles but if my son played for them, I would want him to do well.

Edit...FYI...I have 2 nephews (twins) who play for a HS team in Arizona whose mascot is the Commanders. They were 2 time State football champions. I am very proud of them. They know if I watched them play I would not be cheering for the Commanders. They know why. They were fine with it. Had their team changed their name (yes, I have openly stated that they need to) I would have cheered as loud as anyone else.
