Skins may release Shawn Springs

The Commanders are expected to pursue free agent CB Drayton Florence.

They won't be able to get everyone. The Commanders would probably have to release Shawn Springs outright to have a chance at Florence. Florence can be an above league average starter, but is not in a healthy Springs' class.

While his injury problems are noted.... I wonder if we would be interested in bringing him in. We need 2 more RBs. One will probably be a draft pick. And I think bringing in a veteran might be a smart move too....

I don't think it would break the bank... and he is still young.

If Springs is released, I'd love to bring him in for a couple of years and draft a CB Day 1 as well.

The rookie could learn from the vets and ease his way into the starting line up. In the meantime, we'd be 4 deep in corners.
