Was he still dinged up when the Cowboys played them, because he looked done in that game.

Lots of people look done against T.O. when he is on.

if shawn springs is released by the skins, then we'll see how much he loves his father and how much he appreciates everson walls' kidney.

You need to check yourself. Just because his dad was a Cowboy, doesnt make him indebted to us.

Did I miss something on Shawn Springs? Don't get me wrong, he was a good player, but he will be 33 in March and is injury prone. He did play in all 16 games last year, but it was the first time since 2000 he was completely healthy.

I hope he's not release. We're only slightly above the cap right now(by less than a million). Once we restructure Portis and Moss, and a few others, we can easily be 15 mil under. Releasing Springs would suck. Blache wants him to stay here.

So wait a minute...Springs is a good addition despite the fact that he is one of the guys T.O. raped in the Washington game here last year but Hall, whose 10 years younger, is a sack of crap cause guys like T.O. and Johnson can burn him?

yeah, that makes perfect sense.

Here's the veteran CB I've been saying I'd love to bring in. Do it Danny.

You and me both Hos'

I think Springs would make an excellent third corner.

And less wear and tear would allow him to stay healthy and play longer in my opinion too.

He and Rock Cartwright would be my 2008 free agent 'haul' at this point.

I would use the remaining cap money to take care of our own and use the draft to put us over the top.

Um....I'm no Norman Einstien here, but I'm pretty sure Springs isn't going to a) require the contract that Hall would. b) expect to be the #1 Cb on the roster. c) be matched up against opposing teams' #1 receiver. d) bring a craptastic attitude to the team.

So yeah, I'll take a smarter, cheaper, arguably equally effective albeit older, option in Springs. Thanks, but Hall is still a sack of crap.

He will be cheaper, yes. The rest of the arguments are negotiable at best to me. Hall would be more expensive but he would allow us to have someone to replace Henry with in a couple of years where as Springs will be out of the league in 2 years, most likely.

If I were going to make either move, based soley on short term, then yeah I'd look at Springs too cause of the money.

But if you bring in a vet corner, instead of just drafting a couple, then I'd rather have the younger guy with the potential to get better around the right group of people, rather than the guy whose past his prime and isn't going to be around in 2 years.

I mean it's apples and oranges either way cause i don't really want either on the team, to be honest, but it's just silly to me that peoples huge CONCERN, outside of his attitude, is that Hall just gets beat up too much by teams elite recievers but they'll take an older guy who gets beat by those same elite recievers just as much.

Not to mention the whole "wont have to cover the #1's" is wishful thinking at best. The defense doesn't really get a 100% say in that since the offenses will routinely move their #1 WR's around to get them matched up against more favorable match ups and I don't recall Dallas moving Newman from side to side, in order to get all the 1 on 1 with the number 1 guy. They pretty much keep him on one side or the other, so yes, Springs would have to, at least some of the time, cover the #1 recievers.

I don't think you can leave the 'attitude' when it come to Hall.

It's who he is.

And it's a huge part of the reason the Falcons are looking to unload him.

And I would be very interested in the numbers that show that Springs gets beaten for touchdowns as much as Hall does.

Very interested.

Draft young CB's. This just so happens to be a good year for it.

Hall isn't even worth 1/10th of what I, and many others, presume he would be asking. While a third corner may, on occasion, be asked to cover a team's best receiving threat, most capable defenses will shift help to the overmatched side.

It boils down to whether or not you want a cheap average CB, or an incredibly overpaid one.

You do bring up an interesting point though. Newman has never moved around much, but now that he's had a stint at RCB, I wonder if coaches may be more apt to ask him to follow a #1 around.

I wouldn't mind Springs because he can play #1 - #3 CB spots since he's got the talent and can play the slot like Newman does in the nickel. It's always nice to find versatile players, but I think it's a must when you're considering an aging veteran.

I'd be against Cartwright because Dallas already has a quality kickoff returner. Cartwright probably isn't much better than Tyson Thompson when it comes to being a running back, so you're better off just keeping Thompson around instead of paying more $$$ for Cartwright.

WTH does that have to do with anything?

If Springs is released, I'd love to bring him in for a couple of years and draft a CB Day 1 as well.

The rookie could learn from the vets and ease his way into the starting line up. In the meantime, we'd be 4 deep in corners.

+1 I wouldn't mind 2 first day pick CBs, maybe both in round one. FA WR and a RB and look for depth in day 2.

Giving Drayton Florence a huge contract is so Snyder-like.

Not to mention the fact that the only reason he is interested in him is because he probably thinks JJ is interested in him.
