Every HC over sees the game plans they are responsible for the psychic of the team and staff, they command respect and take responsibility of any and all actions of his team...they deflect blame from the coordinators and players, they are responsible for players being called up, they answer all the stupid questions from media and uninformed fans to allow their coaches to work, they deal with owners, they deal with suspensions etc......

I know some preferred him to other coaching candidates when jerry was looking.
I don't know that any here really love him.
I think some don't mind him.
Personally I think he has some pretty stupid calls or lack of calls that will probably cost a close game.

Circumstances are different and coaches see it differently.....just cause we may not agree, doesn't mean he didn't do what he thought was best....that's all I'm saying.

I like that take. I've found myself asking what are you doing with some in-game MM decisions but I've also never had a job where I'm making quick decisions like a football coach has to. Some of it seems like football 101 but we're not there on the sidelines and don't know what else may be going on to factor in to what he decides to do. I do see that he has this team prepared each week so far and I like that.

BigMac makes mistakes, but at least it looks like he has the team ready every week. I think we can see the difference between him and say the rookie coach in Philly. Fat Mike might have his issues, but he's not a novice.

You know Ranch, some of these people are pathetic—the TV analysts, the ABD’s, the supposed Dallas fans, etc. They NEED something, ANYTHING, to be miserable about. The players are performing, the team is doing well, can’t really gripe about injuries, because everyone has them, so they focus on McCarthy. He makes a couple of “questionable” calls (and he’s fat!), and all of a sudden we’re doomed to fail, because he’s totally incompetent, a bumbling fool, a moron, etc., etc. WE MUST HAVE DRAMA!
