Daks younger, so theres that.
Matt Stafford is on a whole other level above Dak as a passer. Maybe on the short list of the best pure passers in this league ....ever. He has Mahomes arm talent.
Bruce Arians, Aaron Rodgers, etc.....all those guys they just mentioned raving about him even at 32.

but Dak is younger and a good leader, and the players here love him.
Thats a big deal.
Well stated.

Stafford is good. Prescott is better. The difference, at this stage, is significant.

Stafford also might be dealing with a long-term back issue. Time will tell on that.

But in the modern NFL, you don't get better by being worse at QB. That's just the game these days.
That is up for debate. Essentially, they are very close to the same guy.

However, it's actually an easy choice. Stafford for 20-25 mil or Dak for 40 mil.

Stafford by a landslide.

Not sure why MY post was deleted. So, I'll just repeat it.

As I stated before, not a Dak hater but,

I think the Dallas offense is more suited for a classic passer.
Dak's special talent is in the run game. Designed QB runs.
Moore does not call enough of those. Jerry Jones has been
quoted comparing Dak to Cam Newton (in his prime).

My favorite Dak play is the run against the WFT where he
stiff armed Josh Norman. I have wanted to see more designed runs
from Dak since day 1.

Staffords cap hits are $9.5 this year and $12.5 next year. More than half of what Dak willl get. But they likely want a 1st rounder for him

Im sure a cap expert will correct me if I’m wrong
Staffords cap hits are 33M and 26M the next 2 seasons.
His base salaries are lower as a lot of that so signing bonus gets eaten by DET BUT Stafford has 10M roster bonuses and 500K workout bonuses that go to new team...

End o day new team eats 20M and 23M next 2 seasons....

EXCEPT Stafford already wants an extension and raise4 as part of the trade, lol.

No NFL offense is built for a classic passer anymore.
It's 2020 and you are spreading fields and making quick reads.
Old school pocket passers are basically out of the game.

Dak is not a runner. He is a modern day NFL QB who LEAD THE LEAGUE IN PASSING YARDS when he was injured.
He presents minimal run threat used mostly in power situations to get first downs.

(Cough) Tom Brady (cough).
You may have heard of him.
He's playing in the Super Bowl next week.

Stafford is a classic passer.
Matt Ryan, Big Ben, Brees, Rodgers, all classic QBs who look to throw
and almost never run.

Dak presents minimal run threat because they don't call for it, which is my point.

Brady and Mahomes are both classic pocket passers.

I didn't make this up a week ago. I really hope Dallas explores all there options.
If we can get Stafford at his current cost, that would be amazing.

Poor little dak cry babies. Teams falling all over themselves for stafford. Dumb little chumps don’t understand the need for a great qb.
