Skyler Green

Hes a ROOKIE! You dont draft a guy in the 4th round only to cut him after the training camp/preseason. Later picks are usually developmental players anyways.

I agree, skyler has a lot of potential. he could be a very dangerous return guy, and as a WR could be pretty dynamic with some work.

They couldn't even get Woody Dantzler to the practice squad a couple of years ago, I'm not so confident a 4th round punt returner would make it.

Somebody would have to put him on their roster. He's not that good right now. Right now, you can have Woody for a bag of chips.

There are plenty of bad teams that don't have 40 guys worth keeping on their team.

People are getting too emotionally caught up in the Green factor. I can only imagine how high blood pressures will rise once he makes the cut.

I don't think Green is any danger of not making this team. Now, if he is having problems on the practice field, like was mentioned by the announcers monday night, then I change my post. But if we are talking str8 talent and potential, he makes this team. He wasn't drafted as a WR and his status will not have an impact on Hurd or Rector. I think we keep both of them plus Green. I think Copper is gone because of Hurd and Rector as Wr and Pat watkins on ST. With only carrying 2 QB's this free's up a roster spot and I think we will carry 9 OL,, 5 WR 5 TE/HB and 3 RB for a total of 24 Offensive players. Also think we carry 24 Defensive players and 5 ST players,, 3 kickers, 1 LS and Green!

In contrast, your fourth or fifth receiver doesn't usually change a game for you. I know that there can be issues with health, and that may be a more pressing issue with this group of receivers. But when it comes right down to it, would anyone really be surprised if Skyler Green was kept instead of someone like Sam Hurd - even if Hurd has shown more promise as a receiver?

...............

Well said. I guess it all depends on how good you think he can be as a PR/KR and if he perhaps may have something we can't see that Parcells is intrigued by.

I personally would cut him. I think roster spots are even more so a premium if you are thinking about making a run into the playoffs. Just more exposure and more intensity wearing down players and the usual injuries and bumps and bruises.
