Slam dunk draft

I wouldn't. Switzer is by far the better receiver over Austin.

I would've preferred to have kept Switzer, but I think what they got for him was good compensation.

I'd rather have traded Beasley instead but no one in their right mind is giving us something of value for him.

I suspect this draft will not grade well by many in the media.

I would have traded Beasley and a pick if that was the case

solid draft.
LOVE the first 6.
LOVE Cedrick and Bo.
Covington could be a find...not gonna torch a guy I havent seen.
Kiper liked it.

I can't imagine anyone trading for Beasley. He's five foot nothing, approaching 30 years old and coming off a 36 catch season. He's also a FA in 2019.

Obviously, Oakland wanted Switzer.

- Top two picks are walk in starters that should be able to play at high level immediately

- LVE is good enough right now to be a solid rookie MLB. His ability to shed will come, but he gives tremendous range in both the running game and passing game. His range will help the safety group

- Williams will outperform many OL drafted ahead of him. He is a player whom if he came out last season would have been a definite first round pick. Putting him opposite Martin gives us the potential to have two dominant OG's.

- I dont know of Gallup is a future #1 WR, and I dont know if he is a rookie starter, but he is a clear upgrade over Butler and should become a clear upgrade over Williams at some point

- Armstrong is going to be an interesting player to follow. Behind Lawrence and likely starter Charlton you have Elay, Tapper and possibly Gregory. Dallas finds snaps for almost everyone, but he is going to have to work to get on the field. However roster spots arent set in stone for any of those three.

- I think Shultz has a chance to become the starter this year. Really not a sexy player, but very solid. Strong run blocker which may win him the job. I believe he can be a dependable target in short to medium range.

- The rest of day is interesting. Mike White is a gifted QB, but is very hard to evaluate due to how poor his team was. Also played 4 different systems. Both Covington and Wilson may become PS stashes, but could become contributors down the line. Wilson may even contribute this year, depending on what we do with the veterans on the WR corpse. Bo Scarborough is great value in the 7th. A 2 down hoss who pairs well with the more versatile Smith behind Elliott.

**Austin was a good, cheap flier on top end talent. Cost us only a 6th and about 1 mil in cap space. Dont know how they are going to use him, or of he will be useful but it could pay dividends

At very least it looks like Dallas was prepared and made smart moves in draft and trades. One thing I did notice was that most of their picks were "need" picks so it will be interesting to see how that philosophy shakes out. This was team with backs again wall & I thought they came out swinging. Lets see if its enough to save Garrett job this year.

In addition, if you traded Beasley who was clearly Dak's security blanket along with Witten then you literally have removed the top 3 WR for Dak over the past two years. Maybe that's good for progress but for a young QB that maybe bad.

Switz literally was not given a shot this past year. I just dont understand the thinking of that trade. Especially for what we got in return?

No way this draft was a slam dunk.

Only pick i thought was "ok" was Williams

Solid draft. If Vander Esch is as good as the Cowboys predict, could be a great draft. Connor solidifies an already great O Line. With Fleming, Martin, and Looney we have a very good group of reserves. Do they cut/trade Chaz Green? Gallup is DJ Moore-lite and could be a YAC machine. Mike White could be a guy we can turn into a pick down the road. Personally, I don't think we have the QB coaching to really develop him. Armstrong is an edge rusher and we can always use those. We have 8 or 9 D Linemen that can contribute.

Ward and Austin are solid, low-risk pick-up's. Like both trades.

Need a Tight End badly although I think Schultz is better than JAGS Jarwin and Swaim. Maybe Gathers finally puts it all together.

If we went out next week and signed Vacarro or Tre Boston, I'd feel a lot better about the defense. You are only as strong as your weakest link and right now, safety is as weak as it gets.

Im with Davis in the belief that Williams makes this draft. If he comes through this year as a high level starter, teams will find it difficult to cope with us upfront. Giving us a competitive advantage we enjoyed in 2014 and 2016

Austin is more of RB than WR now. Dallas had 9 WR on roster that will only keep 6. They filled need by getting DT and still will have to cut two more WRs.

I think LVE range could help the safeties. But I agree we are still safely weak

I see these posts after every single draft. People talking themselves into how great our picks were. Remember how they told us Switzer was going to change this offense and special teams? Yeah he's traded a year later. This is why I don't take this FO seriously.

Sorry but this draft outside of the first 2 picks was weak. And we did absolutely nothing to address 2 huge areas of need in DT and safety. We don't need all these WRs and another TE who is a Swaim clone. They did everything they could to keep the 3 guys at TE they had behind Witten and they go use another high pick on another? Same ol same ol from this team. And we wonder why we get steamrolled by any good offense. Offense is not the issue with this team. Defense has always been forever now.

The way this team does not value the DT and safety position is sickening. We have Jeff Heath as a starter still. That should be criminal to allow that to happen. Unless they still plan to get Earl. Skins get Payne and Settle to beef up their interior. Meanwhile we get no one and will roll with the same undersized spares we have and get gashed up the middle. Besides Irving. Although he is still undersized.

It will grade well by some and poorly by others.

Ive noticed in prior alot of times evaluators lock on a couple picks they though were steals or a couple they thought were reaches

So we give away the better player

Folks complain about Switzer fumbling once but yet so happy about Austin who they say is an upgrade........ He fumbles every game. The same ones happy about losing Switzer will be the same ones complaining that we got rid of Switzer

Well we’re probably getting 4 starters out of this draft which isn’t bad. Would’ve liked to see a trade up to pick Moore in the 3rd but I like the guys we got to round out the roster.
