Geez, so we expect our RB1 to make the same salary as our punter? I hope this isn't true but based on reports of Zack Moss being out of our range at $4 million per a year then he may be correct.
Sounds like they plan on having a rookie running back be their starter. Which now forces them to take one early.

Welcome to being the most talked about team that hasn't done squat.

Don't forget we are still paying Fat Zeke 6 million next year for being such a stud. Gotta factor that in.

Can you imagine we paid Zeke 6 million last year for being such a stud and paid Pollard 10 million on top of that. 16 million for almost nothing. Now we are scared to sign someone for 4 million.

The Pollard move wasn't even bad. He got 24 million on a 3 year deal. A tag isnt' bad and surely not enough to be afraid to spend on running back.
It’s an overreaction to go from $10m to not wanting to pay $4m/yr.

But maybe someone in the organization has a relative playing RB we can draft again on day 3.

Just blow up the team now and sell it.

Parsons, lamb, and dak going to be massively overpaid and cripple us for more years to come. Jerry style

Do everyone a favor

i would love to see them go super cheap everywhere, eat daks cap, implode and trade away a lot of these guys that need big contracts and just start over in 2025....anything that gets Dak out of the building and he can take MM with him

2nd round RB on the way. Just a matter on who it will be.
As I answered in the Henry thread...
We will draft Texas's Johnathon Brooks who tore his acl in November.
Our history of injured and/or character flawed 2nd rounders continues and the war room will be full of high fives all around.

Those Jones boys are just so much smarter than the other 31 teams.
They'll tell you as much too.
LOL

Also, means you have to possibly reach in the draft for one. If you expect there may be a run on RBs in the 3rd round then you would need to draft your RB in the 2nd round since you draft late in the 3rd. Unless you trade up with the 3rd pick. Going into the draft with so many needs at starting spots is not good. Hopefully we do something to start filling some of these needs.

Yep. Basically.

My impression of that communication is that the Cowboys will simply limit their consideration of which RB to sign will be subject to the cost. That's far from shocking when one considers what the Cowboys' FO has done in veteran free agency in the past. A 3-million-dollar limit in the spending for that job is plainly indicative of signing one of the upcoming NFL draft picks at RB. Historically, it's just how the Dallas FO rolls, not surprising, in the least.

Billion dollar organization with billionaire owners. Businessmen at that and they have no clue how to work the cap. Utterly pathetic. When Jerry passes away and Stephen takes over its gonna be mucccchhh much worse.

I understand this sucks.

But the reason this year for it being even more bleak than past years is obvious.

That reason will reveal itself soon. The end is near.
