Sloppy and unprepared

You guys keep over rating our talent. Yeah, I thought our receivers should have been better but other than that my biggest concern was if the Giants DE and LB’ers could get enough pressure on Dak to negate their ****** corners, which is exactly what they did.

There were also cowboys fans who talked **** about their interior DL and how muchqorse they would be against the run without Dexter Lawrence. I posted stats how DJ Reader was better against the run than Lawrence last year and how he was double teamed more than any other player. I brought up concerns about their new LB’er (Reese) who we didn’t know about and Edmunds who was really good against the run.

I thought we would win but I didn’t dismiss them like some of you and you’re still making excuses “there’s no excuse for not dominating teams like the Giants”. Really? No offense, but the arrogance of you fans like yourself and the players is why we still suck. We got man handled, we had penalty after penalty go in our favor and still got beat. We got out played and out coached. Our talent isn’t all that.
So you missed the whole discipline and execution part.

We haven’t had discipline since Jimmy left. Well in the 3 years Parcells was here. So we haven’t had discipline in 20 years.

Discipline and execution are an indictment of HCs. I think it’s worthless until Jerry retires. The only hope we have is a couple weeks ago there was a news story that Stephen would run the team differently if he could. Hopefully Stephen gets sick of losing and sees the connection between HCs, discipline and wins. These “coach in training experiments” are wasting careers. I hope Stephen can see it’s wasting his and he can make more money with a winner than a loser.

I'm hoping Steven just wants to win more than he wants to be.The walrus

It took this game to illuminate that for you?
Well...It sure seemed they did a lot of the right things necessary to get this going in the right direction.

I still think the talent is here....but boy do they gotta get this scheme and player rotation figured out quick. That's what the pre-season is for...and it looks like we mailed that in for sure....for fear of injury.

Keep in mind it is week 1. Pretty much anything can happen. No team is the same 5 weeks later.
I hear you cheer up things could get worse right.

And in 5 weeks it could be worse.

What a disappointing team
.
Just all the penalties show that there is no change the coaching still sucks.
Especially the really stupid stuff like taunting and hitting their quarterback out of bounds.

This is what happens when you don’t have first teamers playing any of the preseason.

No one’s looking for them to rack up 70%+ of preseason snaps, but there has to be a balance.

Personally, I’d rather lose my star receiver or best defender to a preseason injury and have the rest of my starters well-drilled for the season, than have nearly a clean bill of health and no one having a clue what they’re supposed to be doing.

Schotty pulled his skirt up when he tried to fake going for it on fourth.
:lmao2:

I get why he did it, but yeah, it was kind of a low-key submission. It's kinda p***y-ball, trying to get something for nothing but you can't totally discount that sometimes it works.

The difference is, that back in the day, I NEVER heard anyone, from any quarter, medicate/placate themselves, and others, with "It's only one game."

I never heard that ***t come out of Landry's mouth or Jimmy Johnson's mouth.

this not someone's Little League team....

Or is it ?

We just looked unprepared. Some of the players on defense need to get into the playbook starting on the flight back tonight. The constant confusion, and missed assignments on defense are inexcusable.
Makes you wonder what they do all training camp and in practices. Too many times, insert cowboys coaches over the last 30 years, looked unprepared. It’s what you get from a Jones boys run teamed. Two losers who have zero clue how to build and run a winning team. Their egos will never allow a coach like Harbough. I knew the Giants would pass this dumpster fire as soon they hired a real coach who will be the face of their team.

Jerry wouldn't, though. He'd rather the team look like last night with healthy players than risk an injury to a star player before the season starts and hurt ticket sales and interest.

Pretty sure that Romo back injury in preseason scarred him for life.

this is the first that i am really wondering if this head coach has what it takes. Its year 2, opening night in NY.
And this is how you had your team ready? Ultimately, he's responsible.

:hammer:So much for all that hard work...ect. What a joke. It was all BS. Should have known nothing has changed the minute they sat all the starters during the preseason games. This attitude of trying to save players from injury has to go. We absolutely accomplish nothing by trying to hid players from injury.
That's something they must consider

Especially for a high profile team. If anything they need MORE discipline than normal. Easy to lose focus with the circus.

It's never a good feeling when your team looks like crap in week 1. Just losing sucks. But it really isn't the team we're going to see a few months from now. It's not the finished product. But yeah, it could get worse.

This is one of many examples. I remember the Cowboys looking good putting up 31 points in a win against the Giants in week 1 1986. We didn't even make the playoffs. They went 14-2 and won the SB.

If the game has any meaning, and we beat the Giants in week 17, we'll forget about this crap game.
