I looked up 12 different big boards, and took the average ranking for each player based on those 12 different big boards. Here is how the average Big Board ranking stands for the Cowboys 30 players who visited the Cowboys
13.9 WR Quentin Johnson TCU 26.8 OT Darnell Wright Tennessee 32.9 WR Zay Flowers Boston College 40.2 CB Emmanuel Forbes Mississippi State 42.9 WR Josh Downs North Carolina 44.1 LB Trenton Simpson Clemson 45.2 TE Darnell Washington Georgia 45.2 LB Drew Sanders Arkansas 49.4 WR Jalin Hyatt Tennessee 49.8 EDGE Will McDonald Iowa State 53.3 DT Mazi Smith Michigan 77.7 OG Steve Avila TCU 79.4 CB Tyrique Stevenson Miami 80.8 TE Tucker Kraft South Dakota State 106.4 RB Zach Evans Ole Miss 109.5 DT Jaquelin Roy LSU 111.3 LB DeMarvion Overshown Texas 112.1 WR Jonathan Mingo Ole Miss 131.6 RB Kendre Miller TCU 161.2 TE Cameron Latu Alabama 164.4 LB/S Marte Mapu Sacramento State 190.0 QB Clayton Tune Houston 192.2 DT Viliami Fehoko San Jose State 209.6 TE Payne Durham Purdue 216.3 OG Atonio Mafi UCLA 221.1 DT Tyler Lacy Oklahoma State 258.5 TE Brayden Willis Oklahoma 315.6 EDGE B.J. Thompson Stephen F. Austin 416.0 OG Ilm Manning Hawaii 428.0 LB Durrell Johnson Liberty
The Cowboys 1st round pick that past 3 years was not on the visit list.I do not love the "first round caliber" players we brought in for 30.
Hoping for smokescreen strategy
If they don't have any questions about a player, then they don't really need to bring that player in for a visit.
If Zack Martin was in this draft, they would NOT really need to bring him in for a visit even if they expected him to be available.
- The world knew he would move to OG and be an elite player with top notch character and work-ethic.
Michael Mayer is a Zack Martin type player in that respect.
