Might be Tom Condon, might be Jerry Jones either way I get the feeling this is just a smoke screen to trump up interest in Blaine Gabbert should he start to fall.

I'm being told that the agent for Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert has said that the Cowboys have expressed interest in interviewing his client over the course of the next 4 days.

Ditto, both ways, have to do diligence to know about the player and at same time, let teams that might need a QB like Skins, Vikings and Miami behind us, have to give something up in the draft if they want to trade up and get either top rated QB.
Thanks for the headsup Sdogo. Did you ever make the post about players the Cowboys were interested in at Senior Bowl and east west game? I was thinking you said would be up last weekend, but I may have missed it.

That's not true. Interviews mean something. They just don't mean everything. And an interview doesn't mean you intend to draft them. You can use an interview along with all the other evaluation tools available to determine a prospects worth. That way you have a better idea of what you can get in return for a possible trade. If another team wants to take Dallas' spot at #9 to grab Gabbert, then the Cowboys will have a basis on what to ask in return.

It might be me, but I really don't like many of the top QBs in this draft. I do like Andy Dalton, but the top guys - Newton, Gabbert, Mallett, Ponder - I don't think any of them will amount to much.

Most statements teams make about interest in players between the Super Bowl and the draft are smoke screens and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Me either. Newton has a decent shot to be special because he's so physically gifted and seems to have a good mental makeup, considering how well he performed under the pressure this year. Some team will fall in love with him and he'll be gone in the top 5.

The rest of them will be career backups.
