Smoke Screen Alert: Blaine Gabbert

No, LOL No, LOLOLOL, that'd be worse than the selection of Dez last year.

Lmao it was a joke

We would be fools to not take a look at the Top 2 QBs in this years draft when we have the #9 pick.

I like Cam Newton if he falls to 9.

I would much rather groom someone with his athleticism to take over for Romo in 5-6 years rather than try and hope on a prayer that in 2 to 3 years we're in position for a strong QB draft.

I'd almost like to see the Cowboys draft Gabbert or Newton just to read the reaction of some of you.

If we think Newton is the man and take him at 9 he better be playing alot sooner than 5 or 6 years from now, lol. Romo will be out the door when his contract is up if that happens.

Due diligence. If we did not interview these guys, we would not be doing it.

:hammer:

This is done EVERY single year, even going back to the first administration. As a matter of fact, I think Al Davis was the pioneer on this ( with coaches AND players ). There are several reasons for doing it too. One of them, and probably THE most important one, is " get to know your future competition ". If people think NFL teams don't use CIA / FBI strategies like that, they're naive. This interviews give the scouts and coaching staff insights into what makes this cats tic and that's something you can't or won't find on ANY game film. It also provides information just in case at some point in the future any of this guys becomes available either as a FA or trade. When/if that happens, the team pulls up the file ( just like the FBI ) and go over the info they've gathered on them.

One of the reasons is also if you're considering drafting the guy.

Mine would be unchanged - I don't have a strong belief in any of the top QBs in this draft.

They need to fix both lines.

I feel sorry for Miles if you truly are his biggest fan.....

You can't read anything into players being interviewed it's all part of the drafting process. Just because a player is being interviewed doesn't mean that team is going to target that player on draft day.

We needed an immediate impact at FS or O-line, looking back at the season, who would've had a bigger impact?

Dez Bryant or Bryan Bulaga

Dez Bryant or Nate Allen?

Now imagine if we traded up and got Iupati, or E.Thomas.

5-6 years is a long grooming time, Aaron Rodgers 4 years was a long time.

In this hypothetical (drafting Newton to groom), you're probably looking more at Cam taking over at the end of Romo's contract, which is in 2 years.

That's one way to use hindsight. Remembering how the team (you know, the players) regressed quickly under Wade Phillips last season is another.

Let's utilize hindsight once again. How would Bulaga, Allen, Iupati or Thomas have prevented Tony Romo's season-ending injury?

There are very few critics of Dez Bryant's ultimate potential as a pro, both inside and outside the NFL. You are one of them. This team was damn lucky to land Bryant when he fell. And when I say damn lucky, I mean what his impact will mean for the next 10+ seasons.

Now back to "Heil Austin".
