Here are the snap counts from the nyg game Sunday. Some things that stand out to me:
  • Cowboys had 89 offensive snaps to the giants 67.
  • Donovan Wilson, Kevin Murray and Kaiir Elam all played 100% of defensive snaps.
  • Liafau had only 9 defensive snaps. Still somewhat surprising so there must be something coaches see or know that isn’t obvious.
  • Hunter Luepke went from 8 snaps last week to 14 this week.
  • Tyler Guyton played all 89 offensive snaps.
What else stood out?

I would really like to know what is up with Liufau. 9 snaps is almost a punishment.

I am more convinced that the signing s of Bland, Luepke and Ferguson were timed to take the heat off for the Micah trade.

And all of those guys were signed before Tyler Smith. Glad Smith was finally given his due and extended to a market level deal. He’s the best player we have now on this roster IMO.

Houston clearly needs more snaps.
I agree. He has shown more than the guys ahead of him, sadly.

But serious question: what player on our defense would be considered a “centerpiece” to build around? It’s not hard to see from the couch that this defense is starved for playmaking talent.

Bland is a good corner, but much of his success came from how good the pass rush was in ‘22 and ‘23. Right now, opposing QBs can comfortably eat a ham sandwich in the pocket whi”e leisurely going through every progression.

Still convinced that you don't see the difference of our defense with Bland on it versus bland off it.. No, they weren't, they were signed because Jerry wanted them signed, I don't get it, I don't say why you think that Jerry needs to worry about what you think, he doesn't.

Literally they signed Turpin and OSA Long before Parsons was supposed to be moved off his team, they also brought in a trade for George Pickens/Milton, brought over a lot of Free agents, they made moves a lot all offseason and they still are doing it.

He's not trying to save face,

he's trying to make the team better.. DO YOU Really think he wanted to trade Parsons, no he didn't, but he thought he's doing the right thing ,parsons forced his way out of here, parsons priced himself out of Dallas market, and you're blaming Jerry for it all, parsons is not here because he didn't want to be here.

He was offered a fair contract, and I'm tired of talking about it, He's not here because he forced his way off the team, he got his way he got his money now he's a Packer, and I could care less what he does for the rest of his career He can shove that podcast microphone down his throat and choke on it for all I care...

we're talking about the Dallas Cowboys right now and Jerry's doing all he can at least from his aspect and what we expect from Jerry he he has gone above his expectations this year...

But let me break it down simpler, He used the money that wasn't spent on overpaying a defensive end ,and he used it on other players who want to be here, whether it seems small or not, bland is not one of those players.

Literally, was on most of the fans radar, saying they need to get paid ,That would be Smith and Bland, and Next, Aubrey...

these other ones were surprises, but it's not to save face, they just had the extra money and gave it to them, for now they even use it some on Clowney.. right now, I mean you act like they have to answer to you because you seem entitled to be up in their business and you shouldn't be..

So, convince yourself otherwise, because I'm telling you that's not what's happening because Jerry's never cared what we thought he doesn't care ,That's pretty apparent because he allowed one of our best players to go to one of our rivals, he did not want that ,But it happened and now we need to move on from it...

And by the way if we get real here you remember the poll on people being happy or unhappy about the trade of Micah Parsons would you believe that more than 60 per cent were happy that he's gone happy with the trade so why would Jerry be trying to save face if most fans realized the reality of all this has already been said parsons did not want to be a cowboy or he'd still be here he didn't want to make any compromises so he's gone..

No player is bigger than the team and Jerry understood that for once jerry has been fleeced in the past he's overpaid players after waiting too long and allowing them to get all the leverage this time he did the right thing and he doesn't need to save face that's the point most of us feel like he did the right thing...

Haze, I came away seeing these coaches are hard headed. Not much change from the Eagles game...let me say they're slow to change. Starting to think Tolbert n Sanborn are favorites of these coaches.

Anyways, looks like 11 personnel is the preferred formation of this offense. If so...get y'alls insults ready...I want to see Luepke over Sanders as the single back in relief of Javonte. Also, more Flournoy over Tolbert.

Luepke got a few more snaps but for the life of me I can’t remember one.
I believe he had a nice block on the edge on one of the TD runs.

Even though Kenneth Murray was the trailing linebacker on one of the pass plays, I have to say that I liked what he showed in coverage overall. He had a better game, so maybe he's settling into this scheme, or maybe it was facing the Giants instead of the Eagles.

Although I don't think it's the case, maybe there are some assignment issues with him. I'd much rather see him out there than Fowler or EZ right now.

I like the 89....when you have the ball for that many snaps it pays off in the 4th. It wears out the defense and we saw that with runners breaking arm tackles and their defense gassed.

I need to see Jaunyeah Thomas blow 20 consecutive coverages before anyone can convince me he's not better than Wilson at this point.
