SNF: Giants vs 49ers Game Thread

So. Judging by this thread. The season is over. Philly is going to win the division. But NY is gonna run the NFL.
We missed our one and only chance to win a Super Bowl with Romo last year. We have the worst 53 in the entire NFL. Its a team full of bums that'll never win anything with this coach and QB.

OBJ had 1,300 yards and 12 TDs in 4 less games than Dez last year.

On as many targets without being doubled like Dez as well.

OBJ is good and wil be good, but when he gets the star treatment like everyone else, he too is hushed.

Personally I'm sick of the transcendent talk he gets when his play has not indicated that.

He isn't Calvin in his prime, nor Moss or Rice. He's just the next good WR who markets himself by making routine catches look harder than they should have been (usually ending up out of bounds).

You're not smart. Double even the best WRs in this league and they will have a down week, it takes other factors that bring the double coverage off of them. Odell was held in check against the Bills, Julio Jones as well last week. Even Calvin Johnson is held in check with double teams.

No point in continuing to discuss this with you because you clearly haven't watched Dez. He has constantly beat double teams and has to often times because of this vanilla ice cream scheme.

What i see in all honesty is we have the worst 53 in the division. I've watched every NFC East game and every other team has better backups and overall talent. Romo and Dez tilt that to us obviously but we have the worst secondary depth, LB depth, line depth, WR depth, TE depth, RB depth, QB depth, and return game.

I somewhat agree with you here. I was surprised to see how well the Deadskins backup CBs played today.

oh will you knock it off. this is the cowboys division if 9 and 88 are out there. the giants are still frauds. if dez is back and cassel is named starter and opens it up just a little then we win up in NY in 2 weeks. they almost lost to the freakin niners

I would agree, but I don't think our spineless head coach will make that change.

I will say this, seeing as how Flowers looked against Gregory, I think Hardy is going to welcome him to the NFL in an ugly way. I think we have some good matchups, and I'm going to keep an eye on Beckham's hammy. That thing lingered for him last year.

Well none of the teams in the division have an elite quarterback. Eli is the closest and we know how up and down he is. Other than that there isn't much drop off from the other teams starter and the backup. Problem is with the money invested in Romo and Dez and rightfully so and this team's refusal to pay any role players as well as the catalyst for last season that's why the depth isn't that good. They've gotten so cheap. There's a fine line between overpaying and being cheap.

You bring back Harris all of a sudden the wide recieving corps doesn't look so pathetic, we draft a back in the 3rd or just bring back DeMarco, and also drafting better in the later rounds. We've gotten some good early round guys, but pretty awful later in the draft. I mean who's our best draft pick after the second round in the last five years? There haven't been many.

all we can do is sit back and hope for the best. we are 2-0 in the division, and 1 game out. get healthy, change the QB and hope for the best.

if Romo comes back on nov 22nd, then i give us a chance to win out. even @ GB. revenge will be a factor.

And I'm sure Gints fans also said "but if we had Cruz and JPP we would have won" after we beat them. Good teams overcome injuries in someway and badly teams show their warts.

injuries are one thing. losing QB1 and WR1 is very significant.

Neither of those guys are elite players.

Romo and Dez are two of the top ten players in the game.
