Yeah, I think those Deadliest Catch boats are out there right now, aren't they?

I would imagine if it is hitting in the area they are in, they would find a port somewhere to wait it out. I think they have showed a few of them doing that before in bad storms.

Hola

Thanks for the kind words. There were kind words said right? :D The storm hit the west side of Alaska.

Like 2k miles from me. Ketchikan and Nome areas got HAMMERED w/ hurricane force winds and seas. The news last night showed 40 ft waves crashing the shoreline of Nome and floods galore.

Foretunately we don't live anywher near that area. We got a couple inches of snow last night. So its been smooth here in Anchorage.

The Hillstrands are in Homer, AK. atm, so I know the Time Bandit isn't out in it, but there are a ton of other vessels out trying to get paid.

Those guys are crazy.....

So what kind of storm does this qualify as? Typhoon since it's Pacific side?

They referred to it as a Snowicane on TV last night. :laugh2:

That's funny. Yeah this type of storm is unheard of in Alaska. Typically this thing happens way out to sea.

Not now!!

Snowicane force winds up to 90 MPH. :laugh2:

having lived in alaska when i was a kid, i can tell you those storms are really nasty. it's better to stay indoors & make sure you have enough wood for your fireplace.
