I have never heard of (Not saying it's not true) but I've near heard of two Assistant Head Coaches in my life.

Why don't they just make him the defensive coordinator....I think our current one is over his head. The defense wasn't horrible, but it was conservative especially during crucial situations and I think a team with this much talent needs to do better.

So ... you're saying Wade Phillips was in over his head?

Because the guy with the title defensive coordinating was not coordinating Dallas' defense.

Study harder then.

In Washington last year Gregg Williams and Joe Bugel were both Assistant Head Coaches and Al Saunders was an Associate Head Coach.

IN Denver Steve Watson is the Associate Head Coach and Jim Bates is the Assistant Head Coach. One over Offense and the other over Defense.

It's just titles so that they can "validate" a higher salary.

Well that's up for debate....but either way Capers would bring a little more aggression to our defense and I think it's something that is much needed.

Is it still the case that the assistant HC title allows teams to block interviews for HC positions? If so, what does the associate title do? Associate would be a higher rank than Assistant in many fields but I don't know if the league recognizes this title

I don't think the assistant HC title blocks you from interviewing for a HC position - nothing does as far as I know.

Exactly! I work at a company with about 5000 employees - get this - there are at least 50 Vice Presidents with many more executive directors.... Can you say top-heavy?!

That reminds me of this gal I.....

Capers employs a two-gap line technique in his 3-4, I believe. I wonder if Phillips believes the team is better suited to this style.

In a way that kind of scares me……………. too many cooks in the kitchen if you ask me.

That's assuming they all want to be cooks, and not just coach the positions their assigned to coach. I don't think a surplus of ideas is necessarily a bad thing anyway.

I think Dom Capers should be our defensive coordinator, quite honestly.

Reminds me of the movie Wallstreet with Michael Douglas's "Greed is good" speech

"33 different Vice Presidents each earning $200,000 per year.... I have spent the last 2 months analyzing what they do and I still cannot figure it out..... our company lost $110 million dollars last year and I bet that half of that was spent on all the paperwork going back and forth between all these VP's"

That's 1 in 100 employees. You want top heavy - I work at a place with 205 employees and we have 14! And they occupy a building as big as the one us 100 engineers/testers/support people work in. Nice.

Once Capers is hired, Jerry only needs to fire Wade Wilson and bring in Al Saunders as QB coach.
