Talking about all the other stuff is too depressing.

I certainly think he deserves it.

#1 in sacks (by a mile), #2 in fumbles (Harrison only has one more), I believe he ties the record for sacks by a LB?

The only player who is even close in the running would be Ed Reed because of his INTs.

So if Reed wins it instead of Ware can he blame Romo for those 2 early christmas gifts he gave him?

I don't care who wins it. I like Ware but theres something wrong with him not sure yet what it is. That 20 yard angle he took in the last game really irked me. Oh well...

I think he still does. 20 sacks is a stat that jumps out at you. The 4 forced fumbles late in the season really helps too.

Had Hamlin picked one of those up.... well, we'd all be in a better mood today likely.

Even if we had been a lock for the playoffs before the game yesterday, after 44-6, I don't think anyone would be in a good mood.

But I really think he deserves this. Reed caught alot of flyballs this year - Ware beat some of the league's best T's man on man 20+ times.

I don't think he does, due to the team's failings.

Harrison will probably win it because his team is more successful and a media darling.

I don't think whether or not he deserves it is the question here....he clearly does. I think the question is whether the people that vote on this will be looking at it the same way we do....and I doubt they do.

Harrison and Reed have been in the limelight more often than Ware, and with that dismal performance last night, I think people in the business are going to be quick to dismiss anything 'Cowboys'. They're likely as sick to death of talking about us as we are of them doing it.

I doubt they'll be thorough enough to look at things like Ware and Harrison's performances against like opponents. Ware was clearly the better player against teams that both the Cowboys and Steelers played....but who will notice? I doubt many.

Ware's team is his achilles heel in this case.

1. They're viewed as overpaid underachievers.

2. He's overshadowed by more entertaining teammates.

3. He's on the Cowboys, and while our fanbase is undeniable, there are fans of 31 other teams that relish in our failures.

...and then there is the fact that the Steelers and Ravens are going to the playoffs. MVP's aren't usually plucked off of losing teams.

He should win by a fairly significant margin, but I bet he probably wont

He's definitely the best defensive player in the league though, and he probably should have won DPOY last yr too.

I say he does not. His team did not make the playoffs and that will weigh in on whomever decides.

He should win the whole thing, but I wouldn't be shocked if he was like 5th.

With the possible exception of Nnamdi Asomugha, 94 is probably the best defensive player in the league.

I think you can make an argument for Harrison, although my suspicion is that a lot of linebackers would fill in his role on that loaded defense and put up similar statistics.

Frankly, I'd put it as:

1.) Nnamdi Asomugha
2.) Demarcus Ware
3.) James Harrison
4.) Ed Reed (just look at the TE/RB stats against the Ravens...sickening)
5.) Charles Woodson. No, seriously. Was able to step in and staunch the bleeding for so much of the year, playing corner and safety at a top notch level. GB was as good or better against #1 receivers as any defense in the league.

Harrison wins in a landslide, though. Dallas and Oakland are just too lousy to merit individual award votes, unfortunately.

Will he win it? No

His last two games he disappeared.

this is b/s

even after that huge sack and turnover he made plays vs Baltimore, and should have had a clinching forced fumble but another player blew it...he also had several tackles for loss and was a force vs the run. He was so dominant, Baltimore dedicated two offensive tackles to him most of the game. Both Baltimore and Philly had multiple guys blocking or chipping him on most plays.

10 tackles. 2 forced fumbles. 1 sack. 2 tackles for a loss (in addition to the sack).

Looks pretty good to me.

Ok maybe I am wrong on the Balt game but he did nothing yesterday except try to run around the LT.....10 yards the wrong way. I love his effort but he did nothing yesterday.

IF he played in NY or Pittsburgh yes.

Unfortunately he plays in Dallas and the writers and media around the country dislike Jerry, owens, pacman etc....so that will have an effect in this stuff.

The guy is amazing. I hope he gets something.

Its pretty much already been said a few times but,

Does he deserve it? Yes, but a player on a playoff team will walk away with the award....

He had three TFLs, not including the sack. He snuffed out two screen passes against the Ravens, and he stopped Westbrook for a loss near the goal line against the Eagles.

If he didn't disappear yesterday he would have. Its got to go to Ed Reed at this point. The guy is just in another league.
