When Romo learns how to travel in the 3rd dimension, he will simply hover over the pass rushers and take his time as the stats go up.

Then by Week 12 when everything is clinched Kitna will come in.

Man where is that Romo-floating-with-Jesus pic a member here was usin' as their sig for the longest time? It'd be great here.

If Garrett shortens the passing game a little and we run the ball more Romo won't take close to the beating he took last season even if the o line sucks

For the love of all things good, bring back the 7-yd slant!!!

hopefully never. but if we'd had Kitna last year, we very likely would have been in the playoffs.

Ehh... maybe.

We may have gone 2-1 instead of 1-2 in that stretch. We were playing like crappola near the end so we would have found a way to blow that 1 extra win advantage or just another one and done in playoffs.

We only needed one more win and Kitna would've held down the fort better than Brad in the St. Louis game. The defense played like crap, but the lack of offense helped things snowball in a hurry.

As far as the postseason, I know I'm in the minority, but I believe one and done is better than missing the playoffs. I always want the Cowboys to have a chance. They can't break the drought if they don't make it to the tournament.

He gets to start in the pre season and plays the last 3 quarters of the season.

Unless he's converting to safety or something, after he's picked up by another team in FA 2 years from now.

Right.

He's had one real injury in almost three full years of games. Yet now the injuries are going to come

I'm not calling him injury prone. I just said if he's not more aware of the time he doesn't have. He's going to have more finger problems...

No, this is not a diss Romo thread, My question is this: With all of our NFC East opponents bolstering their D-lines, how long will it be before Romo is injured and Kitna has to start a game?

Romo was pounded last year, and best I can tell, we will have the same line this year as well.

I say, kitna will see action by Thanksgiving.

:(

I say if healthy, our starting OL is gonna be pretty damn good. Doesnt guarantee Romo wont get injured, but I bet he gets alot better pass protection this yr than last. I also think they'll run the ball more.

So I say Kitna plays in mop up duty only, other than preseason.

Flo at LT, and we don't max protect? Week one I guess....

Exactly. With the way Flo was playin last season, Kitna will be in by the second series of the 1st regular season game :banghead:

With the current offensive line, and not seeing the schedule yet, I say 3 weeks, and then give Kitna 1 or 2 weeks before we are looking for cannon fodder QBs off the street to get beat up behind this line. Both Romo and Kitna will be on IR before 8 games in.

FWIW, Kitna is on 103.3 right now. Super-lame recap:

-- Are you here to push Romo? Was that mentioned to you? No, I'm not here to challenge Romo. I'm here to back up, know my role, compete, and keep the ship afloat in case Tony gets hurt. Tony's done some awesome things in his young career and he's going to be everything this team wants.

-- But don't you see yourself as a starter still? I do, but usually you don't get to start except for bad teams, and at this point in my career I really want to win. After Cincy and Detroit I'm ready to feel like every Sunday that I'm confident I'm on the better team, and that's how it is here. I know they're doing everything to win both on and off the field.

-- I was told that some other teams were interested in trading for me... Maybe not a player, but picks.

-- How was last year? You weren't really hurt that bad, were you? I shouldn't have missed a game. My back had spasms against Chicago, and kind of locked up on me. I shouldn't have been IRd. (I missed part of this.)

-- How's your relationship with Roy Williams, the WR? It's great. Roy's easy to be around and we compete at all kinds of things, which I like because I'm a competitor. He's a great player.

-- Some of us were thinking last year he was overrated. So you're saying he's not? Oh no, he's not at all. I saw a couple of years ago that he dominated almost everyone he went up against. I think he just didn't know the system cold yet, and had to think instead of reacting. And in this league, if you have to stop and think and it costs you one step, you're dead.

-- Have you talked to Tony yet? No, but we've sent some texts. This all happened so fast.

-- What can you do for that locker room? I'm not here to take over this locker room. But I do think I can relate to all 53 guys on the roster.

-- How can you make Romo better? Maybe take some things off his plate. Talk to Roy or TO, if necessary. That's what I did for Carson. Facilitate communications between QBs and WRs and/or coaches. Whatever I can on Sundays -- tell him how to play certain guys I've played against before. I used to tell Carson, "Just tell me what you need on Sundays and I'll try to help."

-- Have you talked to Bradie James? (Chuckle.) We talked after the game a couple of years ago. I apologized, and I shouldn't have said that. He's proven me wrong anyway, because he's played at a Pro Bowl level the last couple of years.
