Because if the coaches strategy works, some will still be pissed.

Because I think the coaches are wrong. They are wrong sometimes - they are not infallible.

I know. Hopefully we're able to run the ball about 35 times and all 3 backs get plenty of work :)

That's what I'm talking about too. Wear them out with the big guys up front. Minny's D is big, especially inside, so what's best to match up with that? Our own huge O line...

Good news, we need all our weapons ready to this game, with Barber starting, Jones and Choice will have more impact.

Barber just isn't that productive this season i don't understand why we have to waste downs and drives on his 2 yard runs :banghead:

Pat Williams is a bit nicked up and can't roid up because of the frequent drug tests (he and Kevin really should be serving suspensions). I think Leonard Davis has a good game against him. This should allow Gurode to give a bit of help to Kosier from time to time with Kevin Williams who can be a load at the other DT.

I really think we are going to run that power play many times where Davis blocks inside on Williams, Colombo will block out on the LDE (?Edwards) and then the RB follows Kosier through the hole. We've had a few big plays on that one against the Eagles and I think the Vikings will not be used to anyone being able to move Pat Williams. Their LBs have not been very good in run support since EJ Henderson went out.

I also think we will try to run some plays out wide of the Tackles with Felix on some pitch plays. And then, of course, there is our freeze draw.

I do hope we wear out the Vikings and score more than 30 points.

I hear "porn star knee" is the worst because it affects both knees. :p:

Because he was named starter in TC so must remain starter the whole year unless he is utterly embarassed by one of his underlings (Miles Austin did this to both Crayton and RW with that 420 yards in two games).

To be honest with you, I have no idea what Garrett is thinking. Hopefully he just wants to let Barber start because he is back home and hopes to get 10-15 carries out of him since Choice has been dinged up the last two games. I really don't want Barber in there for most of the initial series because we are better with Felix and I want Minnesota to play the whole game from behind.

What this means is that we will get off to a slow start.

He did get off to a good start against Philly 2 weeks ago but I would save him for later in the game. The Jones/Choice combo worked real well last week they find holes Barber doesn't.

Lately, we have been able to overcome Barber's presence some of the time. This usually is a consequence from a big play from Miles Austin and has nothing to do with Barber, of course. We did this in week 15 against the Saints, for example. In week 17 against the Eagles we also got off to a hot start with Barber in the lineup but Free and Davis were just ripping apart the Eagles DL.

Maybe Garrett is using double reverse psychology on the Vikes.

Ha! I just think Felix leaves the whole defense guessing. This is the playoffs, what are we saving him for? Did he look gassed after running for a buck fifty? Every problem we have had w/ Garrett when fixed has been a good thing for the Cowboys. I feel like the board should be running the Cowboys.

Barber always had bad vision but he compensated for it by running over what was in his way. In all honesty, he has always gained most of his yards through large, gaping holes. He was able to exploit defenses that pursued aggressively with this jump step to the outside and gained lots of yards that way. He also gained lots of yards running through big holes up the middle on the draw. In the end, he is really mostly a complimentary back who managed to put up big numbers due to an unusual running style that the league took a little while to get used to.

He is now a JAG - a $8M/yr JAG.

So I just heard on the radio that Barber practiced and is supposed to start. Why dont we just go with the hot hand?

Something about having Felix on the bench and someone else taking those carries just doesnt seem right.

Worked pretty well those last 3 regular season games didnt it?

I swear you people make a huge deal out of the least amount of stuff. If Barber couldnt play, or showed early in the game he cant help us, he wont be out there. Just like the Colombo situation.

Jones is going to get his touches. He wouldnt get them all regardless of whether Barber was healthy or not. If Barber cant go, Choice will get more carries.

Yes, and while we won those games it was mostly due to the defensive effort. The offense only averaged 22 ppg and was very mediocre from the scoring POV. I'll readily admit that we were good at chewing up the clock but that was more due to Romo than Barber.

When Felix came in against Philly we put up 34 even though the pass and run blocking were worse.

Felix makes a big difference when he is out there. There is no point in limiting him to 10 carries like we did in much of the second half of the season. He has got some of his burst back finally and is getting stronger every week. I'll just give this board a reminder of where he was when he got injured. Just before he got injured he was just coming off two back-to-back games in which he ran the ball 7 times for 96 yards against the Giants and 8 times for 94 yards against the Panthers. He was being underused back then even though he was perfectly healthy and was averaging 9 ypc.

Barber will have a good game. Felix will have a better one.

I've been lobbying for this since the off season.

I'm certain Barber could be an outstanding FB. So much of his game/skill set screams FB.

Barber and Jones could be an awesome backfield combo.

I'm not talking about using Barber as a FB. I don't think he's big enough for that. I just like the versatility of having two legitimate threats in the backfield. Kind of like the versatility provided by having two TEs, they have the ability to pass protect, run, pass, etc. with both backs able to do all three but with different flavors.

Barber will be hyped tomorrow, he is playing in front of a home crowd for him. We might even see the Barber of old.
