Abe is right:"This is the Rams, nobody gives a crap what they do so it is impossible for them to take away from the Championship games"

Or as a not so great former cowboys player once said: "It's the RAMS dude."

The Rams are calling it a "second interview," even though Garrett already had his finalist interview in L.A. and Devaney said Thursday that "interviews are done." News Garrett might become Rams coach was not received well by fans. He received a 4% approval rating (approximately 400 out of 9000 people approved) in an online poll of 9,000 and the Rams' ticket offices were "flooded with angry calls" on Friday.

Garrett out of Rams picture; St. Louis could name coach today

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett left St. Louis on Saturday. In fact, league sources said that Garrett no longer is in consideration for the Rams’ job. But there could be a decision reached later in the day. If that’s the case, that means it’s either Minnesota’s Leslie Frazier, or the New York Giants Steve Spagnuolo. Unless, that is, Rams general manager Billy Devaney has another trick up his sleeve.

nfl.com is announcing that the Rams have hired Steve Spagnuolo as their new coach.

The headline says:
The St. Louis Rams have hired Steve Spagnuolo as their new coach, NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting.

I guess Garrett is still available.

Wouldn't it be utterly hilarious if they brought him in just to gauge the fan reaction and then changed their minds based off a poll of imbecile fans?

If you dont believe the NFL is a business like any other business, you're incredibly naive. Coaches are fired all the time because of the fans.

Sorry but no. The NFL is not like any other business. Coaches are fired for non performance. Who was fired not because he was not doing well but because the fans didnt like him?

If the NFL ran like the fans wanted we would all be in trouble.

The Rams have hired Giants defense coordinator Steve Spagnuolo as their next head coach. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and NFL.com has confirmed the news.

Adam Schefter reports he'll get four years and $11.5 million. The news follows up an odd "second interview" between the Rams and Jason Garrett Friday evening which looked like a precursor to his hire. Angry fans may have had an impact, but we think the decision is a good one, however it occured. The Rams defense has been terrible since Lovie Smith left town and Spags looks like a better ready-made candidate than Garrett. Spags will bring an attacking defense, but his offensive coordinator hire will be the key to how this effects fantasy leaguers.

Yes, it is like any other business. You say fans just want to sit at home and watch it on their HD TV's ... uhm, did you know there are things called season tickets and luxory boxes that they have to directly sell to their fan base? It's true. Did you know they cold call you to try to sell you these things? I've been receiving cold calls and junk mail fliers from the Cowboys trying to sell me season tickets for months. They want to set up a meeting with me in which one of their sales agents sits me down in a room and tries to sell me on season tickets the same way people sell time shares.

Coaches are fired because teams can't sell season tickets under the same regimes that fans don't support. The NFL suspends players who get in trouble because they want to protect their market brand. I can't tell if you're just being stubborn or just incredibly, incredibly naive how the real world works.
