Why trade for Lance and work to develop him then not put him in a position to succeed? All we heard out of camp was that Lance was doing the work and progressing.
Maybe Lance is not an NFL-caliber QB. But give him some meaningful practice reps and start him in a game with plays that cater to his strengths to see what he can do. Don’t let him ride the bench then throw him in the game when it’s out of hand.
This is the perfect opportunity to evaluate him in live game conditions when the outcomes of the games don’t really matter.
