No spying on opponents (which everyone did), and the air pressure in the football is now closely monitored and records kept. Until Brady started winning crazy numbers of playoff games, nobody cared.

Thanks, I was not sure what the impetus for the change was.
As kick offs have a kicking tee not sure why or how this new rule would apply to kick offs ?
Seems to only apply to XP and FG attempts ?

Push off rule was created after Irvin interview with Madden where he described how he creates separation at the point of catch.

Not true, it may not have been strictly enforced in the Irvin days but there was definitely a rule for it.

I remember clearly cause I used to watch a lot of Cowboy game back then with my brother-in laws and they always complained about Irvin not getting flagged for pushing off.

Laurent Robinson sort of ran towards the huddle and then went right back to the sideline. We were called for too many men in the huddle - something the announcers hadn't seen called since the 1970's. He never made it half way to the friggin huddle. That cost us dearly.
