Can you believe that? First game of the season. Great matchup. Its being televised in NY and its right around dinner time.:banghead: Married to her for 5 years and love her, but man do I want to watch the game Live. Oh well, I baited her a few times, but doesn't look like watching football all day is the way she wants to spend her Birthday. I could get away w/ it if it was the early game, but I will probably be taking her out somewhere nice. I want great non-biased recaps? Just curious what others would do in a similar situation?

My wife is an AVID cowboys fan. Poor thing thinks a sports bar is a great way to spend a birthday if the boys are playing. Sorry man but divorce ain't cheap, however Tivo is.

Rookie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should have taken care of this today, either taken her out on the town, so you can have the hungover excuse tommorrow, or gotten pissed at her for the day.

I got her sold on the Cowboys early into our relationship, so fortunately no problems there. She doesn't really care about watching pre-season games though because they don't count. She's not into player evaluation like the rest of us. :)

I would record it, don't watch or listen to any radio/TV, and then watch it like it was live when you get free. Good luck and Happy B'day to your wife!!

You are right. I went cheap on the Tivo when I got Digital Cable. Now I may have to rethink my decision. I have successfully turned my wife into a Cowboy fan. She didn't know anything about football when I met her. However, it still isn't to the point where she would give up a "romantic" dinner on her birthday. A side note. Her romantic dinner is her being romantic while I am distracted about what the boys score is right now..... I've got it better than my friend who's wife is a Giant fan. That wouldn't be a good thing for the longevity of a marriage for me. As a side note, my inlaws don't watch football on thanksgiving either. My brother-in-law claims to be an Eagles fan, but watches none of the game on TG. Real Eagles fan...... They think I am anti-social because I want to watch the boys play:confused:

Man Law #481- If Spouse's birthday falls on a Sunday during the NFL Season, man must celebrate spouse's birthday the night before.

And who goes to a romantic dinner on a Sunday? We're going to have to discipline you.

So you live in NY. Make the game part of the celebration.

Watch the game and seem distracted all day.

After the game tell her you are going out to The Bears' Steakhouse (Route 7 Duanesburg, NY 12056 (518) 895-2509) . Have a limo pick you up so you both can enjoy the night out and live it up.

Dont forget the flowers.

Record it, don't listen to any sports of any kind, and for god sake, do not come on here until you've watched the game.

Guess you two have some sort of tradition on the exact date. I could have easily passed it off the night before, because Saturday nights on the town make much more sense than Sunday nights. *wink wink* (Of course, that's assuming you're willing to stretch the truth as much as I am. :D )
