Dude. I love me some Cowboys. My wife, she doesn't like football but is very cool about me watching the Boys. But if it were her birthday? I'd just have to tape the game. What are we talking about 1 game every 6 years? Come on, wife vs. team? You gotta be a grown up about this.

Can you believe that? First game of the season. Great matchup. Its being televised in NY and its right around dinner time.:banghead:
Even if the birthday lands on a Sunday, you take her out on Saturday night! It's a no-brainer. Just make some excuse that you have to work Monday morning. Show her a good time Saturday night, make her breakfast in bed on Sunday and then ignore her the rest of the day. ;)

Ya know, divorce isn't the social albatross that it used to be.

dmq, I would negotiate with her. You will spend most of the day with her except the 3 measly hours you deserve once a week to watch your Cowboys. She can join you and during half time, if we are ahead, you will actually have sex with her like some wild lemming.

Oh well, I baited her a few times, but doesn't look like watching football all day is the way she wants to spend her Birthday. I could get away w/ it if it was the early game, but I will probably be taking her out somewhere nice. I want great non-biased recaps? Just curious what others would do in a similar situation?

I'd crank up the Tivo and take her to a nice restaurant. Surely there is a sports bar near you.

Guess you two have some sort of tradition on the exact date. I could have easily passed it off the night before, because Saturday nights on the town make much more sense than Sunday nights. *wink wink* (Of course, that's assuming you're willing to stretch the truth as much as I am. :D )
I can vouch for this method. We do it all the time and it usually works out better anyway.

Man Law #1 - If potential wife's birthday falls during football season, find different potential wife with birthday in the spring.

Yeah, but beware that last weekend in April.

I made the mistake of conceiving my second child in August and she was born April 26. If I could have just waited a couple of more weeks.

Balancing a birthday party with the draft is difficult.

Good call Chief.

I'm getting a serious headache late August from now on.

I'm due 3 days before the Super Bowl. Talk about a balancing act! Luckily, there's a flat screen TV in each birthing suite at the hospital, just in case. :D
