So Neither Players Nor Coaches Know What To Do?

Newman and different players confessed they did not have any emotion in the Lions' game? This is mind boggling. I remember Bob Lilly's statement after the 1971 SB win over the Dolphins when the Boys held them out of the end zone and to only one FG"

"We felt like the only way they could score was over our DEAD BODIES." Talking about emotion, intensity, focus? Where is some tiny spark from the D that they will leave it all on the field and win or be carried off?

They have been accused/confessed to having no heart. The whole load of coaches and players need to be dumped on a boat heading for ?????
I know we have talented players, real good players that good coaching would make a difference. But no emotion on the brink of the playoffs when you are still in the mix to win the division? No emotion when you havn't won a playoff game in 10 years? No emotion when you have an opportunity to reward the faithful fans who have suffered for ten years yet they have supported the Boys all this time? No emotion and no answers when you are about to play the last game of the season if you lose and have to live with that bitter taste for six months?

You have got to be kidding me.

Sounds like a team just gnawing at the bit to show Seattle what they're made of, doesn't it?

We are lost. The coaches don't know what to do. The players don't know what to do. TO thinks all problems would be solved if he were "involved" earlier.

I will not fall into the thought that somehow we'll come together this weekend. We don't know how and no amount of emotion can will this team to win.

As far as I'm concerned, the team has already lost this game and I think that's the only thing they know collectively.

My only consolation is that Zimmer will finally be gone and hopefully BP as well. You can only take so much, "You suck," until you finally start believing it as a player. And BP has been harping on players for 4 years now. Its hard to develop an "attitude" when you think your leader has a low opinion of you.

We "is what we is" thanks to Mr. Parcells.

I think the players have no emotion because they are frustrated with the scheme. Do you think with all talent on defense we are as bas as we are? I mean look back 7 weeks ago are defense was good , but with Zimmer and Parcells they dont do change fast enough.

The Saints exposed our weakness and BP and Zimmer are taking to long to change things up. Hell the last 2 games the announcers told the hold world our defensive problems but dumb and dumber are to stubborn and conservative to fix it.

Hell Zimmer still does the same things wrong with the 3-4 as he did with the 4-3. Shows blitzes to early no bump and run. same crappy secondary scheme with both defenses. Thr funny thing is people are amazed that its happening and that it has nothing to do with Zimmer.

Answer me this Where in the hell did the defensive mind go that drew up the scheme when we played the Colts? Thats the defensive Cord that I want Saturday night, not the crappy one we had the last 4 weeks. We had Peyton confused and frustrated and then the last game of the season we let All Pro Kitna have our way in the secondary. Mike Furrey makes the Pro Bowl against us but yet wasnt even sure if that Harrison guy was playing when we played the Colts.

Can't agree more. They have completely taken all the agressiveness out of the defense. The way we have played defense, why not go all out and give a big play for a TD than give up a 12 play TD drive. Rather go down swinging.

Another question: why don't we move TO to the slot. Is Parcells that stubborn to copy some of Filthy's plays?

I think the players are just frustrated that we play this soft defense. Hell if it wasnt for Ware who would cause any havoc on this team? I just think the players have lost all confidence in Zimmer and also BP.

I feel sorry for Newman that he had had to play with a DC like ZImmer. Newman you are a good cover corner but I like to play zone.

Just like in the Lions game I love A Glenn but dont you think Kitna is lickin his chops on a Glenn -R Williams matchup? Hell put in Hurd he may get beat on the slant but at least we have a shot at the jump ball.

With 10 seconds left on your own 15 yard line, a well coached DB commits a PI penalty if there is any chance he is beat in the end zone so that the opposing coach has to decide for 3 or 7 on the 1 with 3 seconds left in the half.

I dont see how BP and Haley or even Zimmer cant say "Well TO we never ran the slant pattern but since you made your living on running the slant in the slot we installed it just for you. We plan on running that at leat 7-10 times a game to get you involved and we hope you can break a big one hear and there.":bang2:

Just see us releasing TO after this season and the next game we play against TO, he goes 90 yards catching a 5 yard slat from the slot.

The right thing to do is bench Romo and bring back Bledsoe...it would ignite our offense and rejuvenate the defense knowing that a superbowl QB is back in the mix for the playoff run.

Munchis.....Out!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself.

But too many people think that kinda thing is all fluff...that football is only about bashing the other guy's head in.

It ain't.

In New York, Parcells always tempered the negativity with good natured ribbing, and some positive stuff. Uh, and WINNING.

Winning makes that negative stuff alot more tolerable.

i think that the Boyz started to believe their press clippings.

I dont understand how you can be flat against Philly and Detroit, almost wishing the game was over. This is where i blame the lack of leadership. The players have to get the team pumped up (a la Ray Lewis, Merriman, Porter). This is what we need to succeed.

Like many posters said, our defensive leadership left with Woody.

I think we have to understand that Parcells is human. I just think he is exhausted and tired. You can tell he doesn't have the passion for this team like he did when he first came here. You just don't see that spark any longer. If we lose Saturday, I wouldn't at all be suprised if Parcells resigns without any coercion from Jerry. He just looks tired.

I am gonna disagree.... I dont think he is just flat out exhausted and tired... I think he is tired of the team not playing to the capabilities... there is a difference.... we saw how he was a few times this year when things went well

Wrong......in this case a DC with any brains at all would not put your midget, number 3 CB on a 6'4" number one, superstar reciever. And it happened twice in this game.
