So the offensive line is objectively better without Zach Martin. Now what?

They probably reinsert him into the lineup at some point right? I wonder what happens. The running game is functional. The offense is opened up a bit ? Screeens and stuff have a chance

First thing - he has to get healthy. Until that happens it's street clothes and inactive for each game.

At some point I do expect him to be a starter. But at this point, the Cowboys only have 5 games left in the season.

Out of respect for him and his accomplishments and the career he has had, I have no problem with him starting the last 2-3 games and allowing him to get the little playing time he has left.

Then he can walk away and get fitted for a gold jacket.

Time to do to Zack Martin what was done to Romo during his last year full of injury and depreciating performance. Bench him, especially since the young Oline is definitely performing much better and opening up some holes. Let Zack come play a series during the last home game and call it a career.

The offensive line looks better because Rush can read a defense.

See.... we can give Rush his credit without trying to still hate and lie on Dak.

The offensive line looks better because there are new bodies in there who could actually block now. The quarterback has zero to do with an offensive linemen's ability to block a defensive linemen and open holes for running backs.

(According to MC, Dak is blamed for defensive, and special teams failures. Now he's even blamed Dak for offensive linemen opening holes for a running back)

So since you're claiming Dak can't read a defense....

Tell me how can a quarterback who CAN'T read defenses, manage to be a top 10 quarterback their whole career, become an All-Pro, and an MVP candidate?

If it's so easy for quarterbacks who CAN'T read defenses to do these things that Dak has done, please enlighten us all and back up your claims and tell us all who the other quarterbacks in NFL history are who couldn't read defenses, and were perennial top 10, became All-Pros, and MVP candidates?

Thanks for exposing their serious lack of football knowledge, mega case of DDS and explaining to them how wrong they are. They have gotten so bad, they either don't know or they are big time trolling.

Martin has got 5 games left as a Cowboy, whether he takes much part in them is debatable and not really important. He has long ago cemented himself as a team legend. Hopefully he gets to
bow out graciously and relatively healthy enough to live the rest of his life in comfort.

So replace ZM with Hoffman(scrub) or Bass?

ok.

Turns out having QB makes a difference.
Rush makes the short tight throws that Dak looks off.
If we had the next step up from Rush, this team would be headed to the playoffs.
Despite all the bagging on McClay we have the talent EVERYWHERE BUT QB.

While we're not making the playoffs this year, with a better offensive staff and Cooper Rush from game 1 we would be in the playoff hunt and with a next level QB we'd be stout.

Unfortunately our GM made a epically bad decision right before the season began.

Then again, what else is new aye Jerry?

What do you mean now what? The decision was already made years ago. The only thing left to do is eat the rest of the dead money (28 million). This is the Cowboy way. Pay them like stars until they fall off a cliff then eat dead money for years.

The offensive line looks better because Rush can read a defense.
I'll add this: The o line also looks better because Rush is willing to take a snap from under center, which gives the RB better vision on the holes and makes the run plays hit quicker. When you run out of the shotgun, the ball has to get to the QB and then the RB has to move sideways to get the ball before accelerating towards the hole. Adding those tenths of a second matter at NFL speeds. A defender can move a few yards in that time which is the difference between an open hole and a tackle for loss.

Z. Martin was yet another in a series of bad investments. This team is obsessed with overpaying guys in the sunsets of their careers.
The people who should be the first to realize a player is in decline seem to be the most surprised. Guess that's what happens when you have the guy in the suite making all the football decisions.

I keep forgetting Dak won't take snaps from under center. Its just weird for a pro to have that kind of a blind spot. Back to the Zach topic - he's bound to be playing with some very limiting injuries, but I think he started the season just bad, even before injury set in. I think its father time more than injuries. He's played with dings his whole career. this time its different.

Anyone who knows football can now see
1. Dak holds the ball too long and takes unnecessary sacks.
2. Dak’s accuracy has always been a thing.
3. Dak’s mobility has drastically declined.
4. Dak’s decision making pre snap is definitely in question.

No one is saying Rush is better than Dak as a passer. But we can certainly say the offense is more efficient the last 3 weeks.
If you wanna argue, put on the tape.

I'm surprised we haven't had some chime in that ZM is still All Pro.

Some of this board fight the truth long after it's obvious.
