Im tired of threads like this......
Why is that?
Im tired of threads like this......
27 is middle age for a wide receiver they don't have super-long careers as a rule
I mean Dez practiced weds, Thursday, and Friday albeit limited but still practiced. There are pictures of him leaping pretty high catching in practices. I don't know why he wouldn't play if he practiced 3 days in a row.
His style of play invites injuries but management decided to pay up and there's little choice now. This should be monitored through the rest of the season and if he can't take the field and be effective, get another #1WR, let Williams walk and put Bryant as the #2 and a possession WR. Get a speedy deep threat for the #1. Bryant may make as many catches as the #2 guy, if he can get separation.
It's not about him and his injuries; it is about not having a #1WR or one that will draw doubles. And it's not about the injuries that keep him out; it's as much about the little ones that keep him <100%. He's not fast and not a great route runner; he has to be at 100% to be effective for the offense.
But take a look around the league at the injury situations. It's not just him and it's gotten to the point where the play has denigrated into sloppy games with a bunch of no names playing key positions. The NFLPA and owners should rethink some of these regulations they installed with the last CBA because this isn't working. The game isn't any rougher than it was back in the day; the players are not as well conditioned and many have actually trained themselves into being injury prone.
I'd like to see Dez on the field and helping the team but not as much as he would and I do not see any connection with his new contract and ability to be on the field, it's just bad luck because the guy is a player and wants to help his team. That said, when he's ready to play, we need someone else to dress like Aragorn and move stealthily among the players. I was digging that and at one time he was gliding like Voldemort in and out of the players in SF.
It won't be popular but I agree.
Exactly, B. If his intensity and fire stays lit, he will not age like a Ginn, Beckham, Jackson etc. Speedsters have a rough time as they age, not tough possession receivers like our number 1.
And I'll be rooting for him as hard as anybody I'm just saying when he leaves up in the air and comes down awkwardly it's going to start taking a toll you can count on that
Don't forget about his passion. It is what sets him apart from the crowd. You just have to cheer and do a victory lap when he shows his passion on the sidelines.
Maybe if we did not rush him in, he'd stay healthy???
Did you read my post, sir?
Your comment to my post makes no sense.
Maybe if we did not rush him in, he'd stay healthy???
Please do not hurt yourself.Maybe so. This post was so good I had to respond to it a second time
Why is that?
You were expounding on the anti-aging properties of "passion" if I remember correctly. Dez won't age like other receivers who are less passionate. Thank goodness he is so passionate. I knew he was carrying the team with his passion, but I had no idea it kept you from aging! Is that why I feel so, so, so.....ALIVE??
Well maybe we should extend him and pay him some more money. That should cure what ails him! He needs to be able to feed his family!!!
Not saying it's his fault, or that he's not tough, but the best ability is availability. And looks like he'll sit again. Guaranteeing he misses at least a quarter of this season. After all the games missed last year. We spent too much money on a guy who can't stay healthy and our coaches can't consistently figure out a way to get the ball. Frustrating.
Maybe you could argue with what I actually said instead of something stupid you made up.
