So tired of these terrrible offseasons

It is not that bad. We have a second string DE getting popped for a PED violation.

I hate that we keep fostering that kind of mind on the team, but there you go. It is not changing any time soon.

Otherwise, it seems okay.

We seem to have a plan. Which is a start.

I just find it amusing in a gallows sort of way, not catastrophic.

This is not the worst offseason ever.

Last year we might have had the best draft in the history of this franchise. It certainly is among the very best. Tough to call that a terrible offseason... particularly since the team followed that up with a 13-3 season.

If you're only talking about suspensions, then that is another story... but if you're calling the offseason terrible then I don't get it.
Fair enough. I'm talking about the conduct of players already on the team in the offseason.

we had a horrible offseason!!! goes 12-4

we had a horrible offseason!!!! goes 13-3..

since it seems like this offseason is starting out horrible again.. im looking forward to 11-5 :)

Please let's go back to the off seasons where Campo was head coach and Jerry handled everything from jocks to socks.

My wife had me on suicide watch every offseason.

I am so angry. Yet another offseason gut punch. Our best pass-rushing lineman (and my pet cat for breakout player) to miss the first four games, including the key division opener against the NYG. And Zeke investigation still looms... Year to year, it is so difficult to get excited over this team, just knowing in the pit of your stomach, that something bad always awaits. Last year alone: Randy Gregory suspension, Demarcus Lawrence suspension, Charles Tapper undisclosed, season-ending injury, Kellen Moore season-ending injury, Tony Romo season-ending injury, Zeke investigation. All before the first game... I am so tired of these terrible offseasons. Maybe it's the high-profile nature of the team, but I really don't see other teams losing as many players as us, year-to-year. I'm just sick, tired, and angry.

Jerry Jones and the Cowboys are known across the NFL for having an affinity for troubled players and taking risks most other teams typically would not. Are there other teams out there with suspensions and risk taking? Absolutely. But the Cowboys are without a doubt one of the biggest offenders in the league. And its not just a few bitty players here and there. These guys are typically starters or high round draft picks. And you can see that all of them are on the defensive side of the ball. This tells you two things:

1. When Jerry Jones gets desperate to fix an issue, defense and pass rush, he will take any chance he has to and gamble to make that happen. Some might call it a short cut.
2. Jason Garrett continues to have as little control as any head coach in the NFL and has little control over personnel. Jones would probably be better off listening to Garrett more then he does with his RKG attitude. The roster and the team would be better off if Jones stuck more to the RKG theory.

You're only saying this because it's our team. Fans of other squads are all saying the same thing about their teams. It comes with the territory.

If you are trying to imply that most other teams have as many issues as the Cowboys then that statement is ridiculous. The Cowboys are clearly one of the biggest offenders in the NFL. And its not just the number of games missed, its the level of players and draft picks that are getting suspended.

Roy you still haven't learned your lesson about negativity huh? You are making blanket statements with no proof to back it up. The cowboys do NOT have the most issues in the NFL. We are middle of the pack in that regard

Learned my lesson? Too funny. No, I will be cautiously optimistic until the Cowboys prove otherwise.

And I never said the Most. I said one of the biggest offenders. And please show me the report showing they are middle of the pack. Wasnt it just a year or two ago that the Cowboys got fined 250k for having 3 suspensions in one year? I believe the Seahawks were the only other team recently to have that kind of fine.

Facts are stubborn things.

And what does that fact that other teams get suspensions matter? Does this make our constant suspensions acceptable? We seem to be making the same dumb mistakes on defense in particular and even more so at DE. Very troubling indeed. But if it makes you satisfied and think that is par for the course, then by all means maintain those lower standards my friend. Guys like Bellichek would not put up with that kind of nonsense. Jimmy wouldnt either. Gregory should have been cut after this last suspension. But Jones, what does he do? He is trying to change the league rules instead of making him accountable. Just goes to show you the frame of mind.

What is the definition of insanity again?

Any interest on a new bet for this year and the defense? AFter all, you only won by a small margin. One could argue that I was very close, you were just closer.

Umm Roy I won by a comfortable margin. In both sacks and points. If it were blowouts that would mean our defense would have been an all-time great one. You just were too negative about them. But sure we can make another bet

Look at the silver lining, it gives us something to argue about on the CZ. LOL

Yep belichick wouldn't put up with nonsense he would be too busy dealing with his own fines and suspensions from his constant cheating and scurrying around the rules  and if the cowboys are indeed middle of the pack (which they are) it blows a hole in your argument that we are one of the biggest offenders. You're getting upset about something happening to the cowboys that happens to EVERY TEAM including the ones that constantly are winnings Superbowls. Makes sense *sarcasm*

The defense way over performed most peoples expectations. I was just a little too fair in my over unders.

Sack over under was 31 and they had 36? Umm.........hardly being way off. 46 would have been way off.

Again, show me the report that shows Cowboys at the middle of the pack. You cant, because it doenst exist. Its not a matter of getting suspensions, its a matter of how many each year happen to the Cowboy more then most other teams. Its an alarming number. But again, you accept that as par for the course then I have to question your standards.

While Garrett and the Cowboys are worrying about suspensions, the Patriots are laughing at the league wracking up Lambardi's.

we just went 13-3 last season. That's including those suspensions and injuries.

True but why fight the uphill battle every season? It seems this occurs at one of the weakest spots this team has been trying to address. Organization gets ripped for not addressing the DL but they have with players who can't seem to avoid getting suspended. Lawrence, Gregory now Irving. In Lawrence case we lose games due to something he could control which was failed drug test then we lose production on injuries something they can't control

You knew he was a snake..... stupid is as stupid does

We don't say boo when a when Irving plays like a 1st rounder after picking him off the waiver wire

He is playing for 600k this year and this only helps keep him cheaper after next year as a RFA
